Having lots of single star systems

Hello,

right now, i'm on my way back to the bubble and in 'Dryaa Flyi JZ-D d13-525', which is roughly 19k ly from Sol.
X = 556,38
Y = -123,56
Z = 19312,47

Distance to Sol: 19320,88 Ly

My filter is set to G - class and F - class stars. But if i add k - class and A - class stars the result is about the same:
Since around 3,500 ly there are around 40% of the star systems without planets. This systems are quite often with two or more stars.
Ok, sometimes there are some planets around a distant sun. But that are mostly pretty tiny planets below 0.2 earth masses.
30% of the systems are just with Jovians
The rest is with normal High Metal Planets.
There are a Water Worlds, Terra Forming Candidates but no Earth Likes
My question:
Are this numbers normal or is it just the area i'm in at the moment.
Or is it the Y level. Do i have to climb up or more down?
Any explanation is appreciated.

ps. I'm Pioneer (20%) and have around 65,000ly traveled, but i'don't think i ever had this high number of star systems without any planets before.

Just pressed on until it passed, if my height above or below the plane changed as that happened it wasn't deliberately done as a strategy and it didn't correlate in a way I noticed. Which doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Empty system sectors are very much a thing. So are distant binary sectors, close binary sectors, red dwarf sectors, Giant sectors (not hypergiants) and of course the great old Neutron/White Dwarf/Black Hole sectors.

Every cube the galaxy is divided into has it's own attributes. You can see this effect just outside the core regions where you can see the location of the borders between them.
It's also not hard to find several sectors in a row with similar features.

Empty systems are one of the more common trends in my experience.

yep, have definitely had to adjust the normal "space is empty" quote to something like "space is clumpy"

on the upside, for every "barren" patch of solo-star systems, I have found patches that are choc-full of ELWs and TF HMCs and WWs

there is a giant sector? red/orange giants, but not hypergiants? you have a name?

There are lots of regions with giants and non-sequence stars about 1000-1500 ly below (and above I guess) the galactic plane in the core.

Edit: I will PM you a gold mine sector of giants. :)

I found one between New Botany Bay and Athaip Wisteria (WP 8 & WP 9) during Distant Worlds. Can't remember the name, it was somewhere in the outer core regions. It wasn't a huge amount of giant stars, just a larger than normal amount. 3 were within 30lys of each other.

And as the post above said there are many more throughout the galaxy.

Thanx for this knowledge. I heard about 'Neutron Field' but didn't pay much attention to it.

Is there a map somewhere? EDSM for example? I was looking there but didn't find any.
And how do i see the borders?

Empty systems are one of the more common trends in my experience.
The last ~ 20 jumps have been much better. There were just 4 or 5 empty systems.

No map that shows the divisions. You can't see the border itself, you can see it's location.
In this screenshot for example, you can make out a square-ish area where the stars are brighter:

There are better photos around than this.

Like Murf says, there are places in the core where the change in characteristics between the sectors is a visible line in the sky.

Also, the system name, those one or two word "names" that come at the start are the sectors. So the EOL PROU of the area around Colonia or the CEECKIA around Beagle Point etc.
