I don't know about others but I don't always fly a ship that can launch fighters but I am often with a ship that has a fighter pilot eating takeout in a copilot seat, namely my Python. How do others feel about an option to have the control shift from the CMDR to the fighter pilot without needing the CMDR to be deployed in a fighter? I would love for the fighter pilot to take over the control while I run back to use the john without having to leave the warzone.. especially when I am paying someone to be a copilot day in and day out.

It's a valid suggestion. However with an engineered big ship it would easily be possible to fit all lasers and make billions running the game in the background or completely afk.
How does that differ than using a SLF with a Conda or a Corvette and moving a fair distance(15km to even 20km) out while the mothership continues to fight?
