What not to do!

1. Don't hit your booster inside a station accidentally..there seems to be no booster shutoff )
2. Don't hit your eject cargo while in superdrive...there seems to be no eject cargo shutoff )
3. Don't let other players crash into you inside a station, it costs a lot of credits to fix your ship once your shields fall and you take hull damage.
4. Don't let galactic police scan your ship if you have just picked up some stray cargo you found floating in space, cause it's marked stolen cargo.
5. Don't use amazing evasion tactics and avoid getting shot and then shoot down an attacker, because you will end up being wanted in that system and have to pay a lot of credits to clear your name, let them hit you at least once first before you blow them up, they will go from clean to wanted after they land a shot.

I've only been flying for 3 days, so you veterans, please feel free to add whatever I missed. :-D

1) When approaching the station entrance from either side, boost. After all you want this awkward moment to be over as quickly as possible, don't you?

2) If you're interdicted by pirates, don't wait for them to get in a good position to shoot you first. Kill them ASAP, and make sure nobody escapes. Every plaintiff needs to find his judge, but if there's no plaintiffs left there's not gonna be a judge.

3) See a marking on your radar with an empty center? Priority target! Space is the wild west, and drawing last means your demise.

4) Eagles are fragile. If the opportunity presents itself, ram it.

5) If you come across unclaimed cargo, scoop up as much as you can and destroy the rest. You can sell what you have for good money and prevent other ships from accidentally slamming into the remaining cargo containers while in supercruising through the area.

... wait, this thread is about what not to do... dammit :p

Don't arm your Sidewinder to the teeth then forget to sell your gear before you trade up. Ah well, easy come, easy go !

- Don't tickle the Space Dragon.

-Don't come to this forum, complaining that the game is [censored] because there is nothing to do and it crashes and Star Citizen is soooo much better.

Don't use 'fancy flying' in an asteroid field, avoid all the incoming fire, then go head first into an Asteroid...

An eagle attacked me today (I'm in a cobra atm). I managed to shot his shield and some hull down when he took off to flee. I wasn't able to keep up after he got silent for a moment, but he blew up on an astroid a bit further the way. :D

If the pilot read this, it was a fun fight thanks, you got me to 50 hull or so. :)

what happens to your cargo if you eject it in super cruise?

Top tip: In Options/Controls, go to the Landing Override controls section and set your Boost button to Reverse Thrust. That way, when you enter a station and lower your landing gear, your Boost button will only reverse you a bit. As long as you keep your landing gear down when inside a station, you'll never again splatter yourself across the walls with a typo-suicide.

Don't think you're being really cool in evading two pursuing Eagles by thrusting upwards through the superstructure of a Federal Dreadnaught not realising there is a friendly Lakon in the shadow on the other side of the ship.

Do realise that whoever makes the hull of the Eagle is using glass-reinforced papier mache, rather than anything actually suitable for spaceflight, and it doesn't survive impacts with Lakons. :(

Don't be an idiot and actually do this twice.

- Don't get drunk in Azeban City, they like to take you to their "lovely community-service" camps.
- Don't ask for a margarita in Freeport... it's NOT tequila.
- Don't eat sushi in Chango Dock. The good fish, they sell. As for what they use for the restaurants.. Well... I'm not sure it's even fish.
- Don't buy a pleasurebot from Mikey's in Beagle 2 Landing. Your crotch will thank you.
- Don't stop at an asteroid to go out and change the canary's water... It's a bad choice in life. And a very brief one.
- Don't tell Randiant Dawn that you already killed him, his doctor said that would only make it worse.
- Don't side with the Eranin Defense Force on Tuesdays, every Monday they throw a late-night party.
- Don't try to reason with the feds. They're just mindless drones, and if you resist they have a tendency to perform cavity searches. I think it would be best for them to come out clear, hiding it always ends up badly.
- Don't poke COD in the LP-95 asteroid belt. He is a bit paranoid, and might try to "mine" your ship.
- Don't ask the fed cruiser what the captain is doing while you risk your hive for him. Don't ask with who, either.

EDIT: Spelling. (I know, it's still terrible)

Hope it helps!

Cargo dropped while in supercruise

Well it didn't show up on radar in supercruise...I double hit c to get out and backtracked as best I could at snail speed for about an 20 minutes and never saw it again. I tried short bursts of supercruise and dropping out and using long range radar and nothing. It hurt because it was 3 tons of Tea and 1 algae. I imagined the forces of that speed were too much for the cargo and it was incinerated upon leaving the ship. I screamed and went to an Anarchy area escaped death several times, got 3 tons of (Personal) and then I was rammed by what looked like a Fer-de-lance...kaplooey!

Do not let your cats anywhere near your keyboard. So far I have been accidentally launched at high speed, had cargo dumped and was :S  when the black and white turned off flight assist.

Now I shut them out of the room when I'm playing.

Don't tell the feds:

1. The only reason you're driving is because you were too drunk to sing.

2. There's a sale on doughnuts in Chango dock.

3. If you didn't have an Eagle and 3 hardpoints I'd kick your .....

4. Are those your buddies or your dates..

5. I'm not so think as you drunk I am
