Water World with Land Mass?

It is weird that water worlds no longer have any land, but I'd say that both they and Earth-likes do look better now than they did before the change. I'll have to see if I can't dig up some old screenshots from water world lands up close, because while they do look somewhat decent from a distance or on the system map, they were less so from up close.

Also, I'd expect their surface geographies to be temporary, with much more detail to come later when FD gets around to doing atmospheric landings on them. For prior examples, compare airless barren worlds before and after Horizons.

That's all ocean, no land masses.

Way back in 1.0.or 1.1 I found my first water world in the black and it looked like this

I've not seen one like that for ages, they may no longer exist (maybe someone near that system can go and see what it looks like now, the sysmap now looks a lot less green than that picture would imply).

As much as I like the current WWs in the game, I wish those ones still existed as well. I think I saw one somewhere in the Bubble a long time ago but I've not seen any others like it. I think I understand why those kinds were removed though, they do like astonishingly like ELWs. Maybe they should be added to the mix of ELWs instead!

That being said, Water Worlds with land masses do still exist out there... well, presumably anyway, this image was taken over a year ago!



They're comparatively tiny land masses but they exist nonetheless!

Found an old screenshot from the beginning of 2015. Several water worlds had grainy terrain like this:

Personally, I prefer what we have now.
