DK2 with it's higher rez should mean clear reading, space spangly goodness!!!

This is what I'm desperate to find out.

Got a DK1 and whilst it's a magical experience, once I started with the Premium Beta and needed to read the instruments etc, it just became too hard for me. I really want to know how things look with the DK2 before ordering one.

I'm really hoping there might be a DK2 at Lavecon...

Hi all, i was actually going to buy a new monitor as my current one is stuck at 60 hz but when reviewing the prices i came to the conclusion that i did not have to stretch too much further to go for the oculas, so i did only trouble now is im now trying not to get too excited it was bad enough that ED is being produced and now oculas rift as well! oh man exciting times ahead :D (and if my GFX card can handle it even better lol)

Not had much time to play, but I can tell you going from DK1 to 1080p(RiftUP!) is fantastic, I can read everything clearly now, and the increase in contrast ratio, along with deeper, more vibrant colours makes the overall experience much more enjoyable :)

Wow.... Will be a lot of rift users come the end of August ! Excellent!

I ordered mine March 20th 06.43am, shipping to the UK. Would have been march 19th but the website visa payment section was down... Was a very quick decision, they've sorted out the main issues with dk1 and cv1 is at least a year away I reckon. ED is ready for it now... :)

Can't wait....

Got it for ED and to dust off my Source Dev hat and build some interesting places for people to wander around in VR.

Going forwards in time is easy. There's been a fluid invented that, when ingested, can knock days of your life away. Whole weekends can disappear in the blink of an eye.

What sort of graphics card do people think will be needed to use the DK2 with Elite: Dangerous, and how much more do you think will be needed to get the best out of the DK2 with other titles?
I'm assuming my Radeon 7850 will need replacing.

Pretty much described most Friday nights for me. ;)

Lol @ Frank. :D

Slighty off topic, here are the two hosts of 'The Tonight Show' (American) being given exclusive access to a 2 - player version of one of the Sony 'Project Morpheus' demos.

Worth watching for their slightly awestruck reactions. Remember that DK2 and the CV1 will be way ahead of what they've experienced.

Tough to say, the OR web site recommends a card which can play current games at 1080p @ 75fps... Think that's dk1 so a fair bit more for the higher res dk2, you need to account for stereoscopic 3d.

My GEF680 runs ED at around 60fps at 1440p, drops a fair bit sometimes though. I might need to drop a couple of settings. Just plan to see how it goes.

ED is yet to be optimised so there's no need to be too hasty.

Other titles depend how demanding they are...
