Venture to the rim.

Aloha Commanders! o7

I am looking to set out on an adventure to the galactic Rim..I was looking to make my mark on the milky way and be the first to discover new life and new civilizations... :p

Is there a link to a map showing where commanders have and more importantly have not been.. so I have a greater chance of being the first to discover new worlds :)

Congratulations on your decision. As far as other commanders, once you get a reasonable distance outside the bubble it probably isn't going to matter whether one or a hundred other commanders have gone the same way, you are going to be hitting new finds all the way. I just did the run between Colonia and Polo Harbour, probably a well trodden route by now and can't recall hitting a previously explored system ore than 100ly away from each end point.

I suggest picking a route based on something you would like to see, once out of the bubble if you hit a run of discovered systems just go straight up or down 30 or 40 light years and you will be clear.

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and wise advice.. :) I really want to make it all the way out and back in one piece on my first trip! done a lot of preparation and reading regarding the potential pitfalls, just waiting for some time off work to dedicate myself to the cause...

fly safe good sir o7

As Varonica said, CMDRs have been everywhere , but wherever you go, you won't really notice it apart of the Colonia and Beagle Point.

A trip to Colonia is highly recommended as first step as you have stations in-between, and if you like the experience, Colonia is an excellent hub exploration with loads of interesting regions around it - you can hit unexplored and interesting systems literally in a couple minutes.

I've been going round the rim for the last 15 months and after 21,203 systems I've not seen more than a couple of hundred tags since I got a couple of kylies from the bubble.

I would suggest looking into EDSM. They have a galaxy map tracking users trvels. You download a program that extracts and uploads data to them on exploration. You can view a galaxy map of the activity and find those pockets of "more than likely" less explored spots.

Roger that my friend, I will look into that :) the amount of detail and effort the community has given to all areas of the game is quite frankly staggering. However after 30 years of waiting it is fully justified and a labor of love [heart]

sappy, but true.. :p

Install EDDiscovery. It will track YOUR progress and can share that info with the rest of the galaxy via sync to EDSM. While it only shows data for other Commanders who are using EDSM to track their discoveries it is the best way to see where to most traveled pathways are so you can route around them.
