New Ship Anaconda Mk.2

So I'm hoping this goes well for many people. I've been looking into how the condas, Vette, Cutter are built internally . I was hoping to this in all degrees around the bubble. We need a new ship to come out again. Plus more specifically We need more ships in the game, 30 is not enough and wanting to see different ships come out is more appealing .
Please help in a positive way for the Anaconda Mk.2 here.

There will be more ships. We know that.

But why the Anaconda, seriously. Its the most useful ship in the game. It can mine really well, explore really well, does combat pretty decently, trades excellently and it's a league ahead for travel. It's the definition of multi-role. What would you want with a mk II when the Mk I is so perfect.

I wouldn't say we need a new ship. "Would like" is closer to the truth. Even then I'd prefer a lot of gameplay to come before that. No point having 50,000 ships if there's very little to do.

Make gameplay mechanics and the ships to fit those mechanics will come in their own time (passengers is a good example of this).

Because people always think they're somehow getting one over on the game by making good ships better.

The reality is that creating a ship that is 'better' simply means a disproportionate number of people use it and every less effective ship is played less. So by introducing a new, overpowered 'choice', actual options are reduced.

A better plan would be to make other less used ships better. That actually increases options of players, with relatively little work.

Dunno. You can basically turn any ship into an entirely different ship with engineers. I don't even have Palin yet, but my Vulture boosts at 485, jumps at 22 LY hops, can fire its pulses indefinitely and still has room for boosted a grade shields etc, etc. it runs cool enough to do repeat jump/scoops with no trouble, carries 4 tonnes of cargo (or srv) and is basically a serious uprade from a stock A rated vulture. Add a ship kit and basically you have your 2.0

Maybe what we need are more ship kits ;)

also, the three huge ships are very nicely designed in their "tier" - i fly an explonda, a trutter and a morvette (mining corvette), and in handling, sounddesign, cockpit, speed, and internal moduls they are very different from each other - so, as long as most cmdrs don't own all three ships, i really miss the necessity to design a fourth huge one - for what?

beside a non-rank locked huge trader, ofc (the panther clipper).

eh i could go with a gun boat big ship that has 2 large nose mounted gun slots class 3

4 med gun slots class 2

and.................................... 8 small gun slots.......... or we can go hells bells and just go all out small ship denial/ultimate miner and put 16 class 1's on it......

Spot on.

The Anaconda, with dd5's, matches an 'A' grade Cutter, but with superior handling. That is fully 'A' rated, and it still jumps at around 30ly with SCB, fighter bay and SRV. It would still lose to a Cutter, due to the mighty A8 shielding and A8 SCB, but that's fair enough TBH.

And don't get me started on what happens to the Python when you get her pimped. Absolutely the most fun to be had in a larger ship. Don't take my word for it, anybody can buy a Python and engineer it.

Whenever anyone starts a thread about improving stock vessels, I do wonder if they have actually bothered with the engineers at all...

For new Anaconda should I read more internal slots? Sounds like more internal slots. Could I have an AspX MkII, with more slots, but without the weight increase? ;) :D

I would like some new ships in between the Corvette and the Capital Class size.
And in between the Capital Class and the Death Star size. :D

Would be perfectly timed for Multicrew.

It would be cool if there where "interpretations" of all ships by other manufacturers.

For example:
a ship like the Cobra Mk III form Lakon, Core Dynamics, Gutamaya, Saud Kruger and Zorgon Peterson.
a ship like the Anaconda from all the other ship manufacturers.

Each of those ships would look different and follow the design principles of the manufacturer, but still be very similar to the original ship. Those ships would have slight differences in base shield value, hull, cargo space, jump range and speed.

Main reason isn't to have different types of ships, but more ships with some "character" adding to the "feeling" and just make things look differently.

And it makes in-game sense. Very successful ships would get copied by the competitors.

*dreaming*
