Latest newsletter implies the Expansion Pass will be removed

The Premium Beta includes a lifetime Expansion Pack, which was created to reward our early backers with a lifetime access to all future expansions of the game.

Nothing about the expansion pass in the store says anything about it being removed at a later date. Could we have this cleared up? Is the pass intended only for premium alpha/beta testers? Is it going to be available to normal beta testers? Is it going to be available after the game launches?

Correct.
That's because it's not going to be removed.

Is the pass intended only for premium alpha/beta testers?
[edit2] I made another error! See my third post. Jeez. I must get my act together. I'm clearly having a bad day. That's what zapping Feds does for you ;) [/edit]
Yes.
Alpha testers and Premium Beta testers only.
If you're not already testing the game now you will not get future expansion packs free.

Is it going to be available to normal beta testers?

No.
If you want it then you can pay another £15 I think and upgrade to Premium Beta from the normal Beta package.

Is it going to be available after the game launches?
Probably not but that this stage no one knows.
I suspect not even FD have thought about it.

Hang on... I made a mistake.

If you have already pre-ordered the standard Beta and the lifetime Expansion Pack, you only need spend an additional £15 to join the Premium Beta phase and start playing Elite: Dangerous today.

If you have ordered normal Beta and the expansion packs then you will have lifetime access to the upgrades and expansion packs free of charge.
But you will not be able to test the game UNTIL it comes to the normal Beta stage.
If you do want to test the game now then it'll be another £15 for Premium Beta access.

A pack of extensions, is a pack of extensions. Whether it is to kickstarter, of the old store or the new, it is the same for everybody

Is the extension pack will still exist after the release of the game ? And the expansions sold at retail ? Or the two possible choices ? Frontier alone have the answer

Just a guess but I think they'll stop selling the expansion pass a couple of weeks or so after Standard Beta starts.

It seems very sensible to remove it, because otherwise you may as well not sell the expansions separately if you can just buy the pass forevermore, which is almost certainly going to be an amazing deal if more then 2-3 expansions are ever released.

The page for the expansion pass in the store state '(Both the Elite:Dangerous Alpha and Premium Beta products include an expansion pass)'...

The way I saw it was that the expansion pass was (a very good) incentive to join either the Alpha or Premium Beta stages or upgrade from a pre order of Beta or Release. When they get to release I would be jaw dropped if they left it available, after all, they will want to sell expansions, eat food, live in houses, etc.
