Lave or Lave?

Hi,

This is something that has been bugging me since the original Elite...

Is it Lave as in 'carve' or Lave as in 'cave'?

I've always subvocalised it as in 'carve' for no other reason than that's how I first read it. It's probably best to get the consensus before I make a fool of myself in public at some point.

And he pronounces Cobra as Cob-ra (as in corn on the cob), not Co-bra.

Just cannot trust anything DBOBE says really.

At least I had Dee-so right in my head. Now what about Zaonce?

Zaonce as in pounce or as in Zay-onse? ;) Just kidding, of course it's...err...one of the two. Zay-onse says my inner ramblings.

TRUE LAVE...... is the greatest thing, in the world-except for a nice MLT – mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. They’re so perky, I love that. :D

I dunno bro but as I read the title from the forum index I actually read to myself is it 'layve' or 'larve'. I always used to say it like 'larve' but perhaps the confusion is something to do with DB.

He also says COBra in a weird way too. ;)

Its spelled Lave. So its pronounced Lave. As in beetle.
There is no 'th' in Lave. Not even Americans can mess that up. Srsly.
Braben has a track record of bad Englishmaness too: he pronounces Cobra like a loon too.

Basically what it comes down to is: did you attend some count the angels on a pin head Cambridge college or a real university like Hull.
