I have flewn alot in an Anaconde and done many planet landings, and one thing that always have annoyed with when flying my Ananconda is that my SRV is deployed pointing straight at that stupid big "belly" of the Ananconda, with strategically placed landing gear making the 90 degree turn to get away from the Ananconda a 50%/50% game.
In all other ships I have tried this is not a problem, since you have a clear path straight out, and to be honest, several ships would be bad to have the SRV facing forward when deployed, due to the massive landing gear sitting right in the way. Just like having a big "box" in the way on the Anaconda!
And some ships do not have the central placed landing gear so a forward deployed SRV makes sense there aswell.
