why are my screenshots such poor quality?

They look much worse then the game does. Any way to set screenshot resolution higher?

If you're in solo, alt+f10 will get you a high resolution ss.

If you've got steam overlay on you can a regular screenshot provided you have uncompressed turned on in steam settings.

Third option is to have afterburner running with png for format.

That's strange. I think mine come out better than that usually.
Having said that, if you want extra high resolution I think alt-F10 (or your screenshot key) does that, but only in solo (as it can cause the game to pause momentarily when you do it).

It works in solo or private group, just not open. Can't remember why.

Oh, also, watch out for the file size of those hi-rez screenshots. They'll fill up your drives

Ok tried alt+f10 in solo, it temporarily paused the game so it must be doing something. Now I cannot find where it's saving the pictures. They are not in my usual screenshot directory. Do they go to a different location?

My pictures folder under FD.

Can't stress that enough. I just checked one of mine (I don't take many) and it's 94.9MB

You can also change the multiplier for hires shots in one of the configuration files. 600mb per shot is godlike for stitching panoramas that take up 24gigs of system memory

hi there,
looking for doing high res screenshots myself. alt+F10 worked a year ago. but now in solo nor open no screenshot is taken. F10 works fine in regular resolution of my display. any thoughts?

I have to move mine regularly to the NAS. Take loads when exploring and at 168MB each my drive starts to beg for mercy

Do you use nvidia shadowplay/share?

I believe the default configuration sets alt+f10 as the record gameplay shortcut. If that's the case, open nvidia share with alt+z and goto settings and change the key binds so they don't interfere.

ah here we go! it's that shadowplay shortcut blocking the highres shortcut function!
