Star Distances??

I'm wondering while stoating thru the black (and watching Die Hard!!) if there is a reason why distances to stars aren't shown on system map??
Am I missing something here??

Thanks to marx I have installed Captains Log which is a godsend!! :) Couldn't get EDDiscovery to install as Norton kept deleting it :(

Merry Christmas to all you explorers out there!! :)

You can usually get a good idea by looking at the semi-major axis. One AU is roughly 500 light seconds, so multiply the distance given in AUs by 500 and you'll get an approximate distance.

Gets a bit trickier when there's binary pairs and so on though.

Merry Christmas.

Yes my AV tries to restrict access as well, but after a few "do you really really want to install this?" boxes it finally does it. Have you tried adding the eddi exe as an exception in Norton?

Thanks for this. Just thought it was weird. Planets either side have distances visible but the stars don't.

Didn't know you could do that. I'll have a look after much merrymaking today :)
