Lots of Early Birds!!!

I popped on ED for 20 mins this morning at 06:30 BST.

I figured no one would be about so I could safely get a few kills for credits against NPCs without getting stabbed in the back.

I was surprised to see lots of human commanders buzzing around the Freeport station.

No one attacked however, and No crashes either (though did have to save and exit once due to that sound / game stutter glitch in the asteroid belt.

Well, also, don't forget that it is a global release, and although perhaps not as prevalent in the US, there are still quite a lot of them ex-colony sorts playing.

So late night for them.

I think the best "quiet time" will be 10:00-13:00 weekdays. Most people working, lazy students still in bed and USA asleep. This has been my observations from other MMOs and (limited) days off work.

I really want to play right now, but I have my computer stripped down.

I'm getting a monster rig in the mail tomorrow and it will be stress tested and ready to go by the time the update comes out!

Woo!!!!!

EDIT: When I say 'tomorrow,' I mean less than 8 hours!

Good old stress testing ........I did a full rig upgrade 6 months ago and stress tested mine to the limit until it decided to re enact the 5th of Nov from the power supply .
I now have a brand new Corsair mod PSU to drown my sorrows with which laughs in the face of overclocking

Well I wasn't at Freeport, but you might see me around Dahan at that time in the morning having a quick blast after work...:D

I was up at 5:15 this morning (Swedish time) and found myself completely alone at the Fed site for the first time. So I started tangling with these two fed fighters. It was a looong and drawn out dogfight and eventually I accidentally rammed one of them - no bounty. So I started taking care of the other one and after what seemed like ages of cunning tactics like reversing thrust and micromanaging power settings without even getting his shields down, the same thing happened again - rammed him and no bounty :(

This was with just the single pulse but I get the feeling NPC's in this game are balanced uqite right at the moment, that is they seem WAY too hard at the moment but that's OK because I'm still relatively new.

Did you asign a faction to yourself?

Also not 100% sure but I dont think ramming counts as a "legitimate" kill in terms of bounty.

also, 1 pulse laser is asking for trouble.

If I were you I would do a few hrs of trading and at least have 2 pulse laseer.

I did do that but on my way there I was immediately killed by a dual spawn interdiction, first time I was unable to run away. Strange that, almost like the spawns get tougher if you have more weaponry?

That hasn't been my experience.... the full pips to engines and burn has not let me down against NPCs (yet)

I am no iron ass but i do have an eagle with 2 gimbled lasers and gimbled cannon

I've earned credits from several 'kills' where Fed fighters tried to kamikaze me

Hi, sorry I'm still pretty new to the Permeium beta, how the heck do you assign yourself to a faction?

Look in the right hand UI. IIRC it's on the functions screen at the top. You should see the select factions option. Make your choice between Eranin and the Federation, but it doesn't matter too much, as the selection only lasts while you're in the instance. If you leave for any reason, such as entering super cruise or saving and quitting, you're back to being neutral.

Aaaah, I never did that! I just shot at a fed fighter and I assumed I had chosen sides because they all turned red.

LOL, you and me both Jexter... looking forward to trying this again tonight now.
Knowledge is power. :)

Thanks for the info Gazzereth.
