NPC Retreating?

Hi all,

I've been playing the beta for over a week now and generally enjoying it.

I have however noticed a lot of NPC pirates are able to warp out of battle fairly easily when they are losing the battle.

It's hard for a new player to stop this as a single pulse laser can't make the kill quick enough..

I've spent hours previously trying to make a kill only for them to warp away at 13% hull, which is increadably frustrating and time wasting..

I suggest that at such a low hull rating a ship wouldn't even be in a capable state to fly, let alone engage the framedrive!

Is there a way to counter this? As trading or looking for containers doesn't really seem a viable option at this point..

Its a known issue and I believe has been addressed either recently or in Tuesdays update.

To counter... be close to the target to mass-lock them.

I've had a few wanted NPC Cobras in the resource extraction sites warp/supercruise away from me long after I've taken them below 0% hull.

Hoping for an improvement tomorrow.

Doesn't help, I was in the extraction zone and was basically kissing the rear end of some Cobra, I had him down on 10% when he just vanished. Today out of 15 near-kills in that zone 13 warped away, only two of them actually got me valid kill

That's exactly the kind of situation I've been in!

It's so frustrating :D

I hope they sort this out too, make it difficult / impossible to escape once hull has reached a certain point.

I can understand it's going to be a difficult balance though, don't want to make pirate interdiction certain death as that would equally suck!

Or - a means of tracking / pursuing a wanted enemy / criminal so we can finish the job off..
