First contact today!

Hm, looks like a scripted "showoff".
Predefined encounter, Ship does a little dance and signals "Haha, Wake-Scan >this< mediocre Human!", then jumps off 8000LY :D

Oh well, another micro-teaser, so that's that.

*checks distance*... *sees 500LY*
Yup, all good. Space is big enough for everyone, even flying green flowers.

PS.
Will be tough to invite these guys to a local bar. Station would never give docking clearance unless it can fully fold its Wings to fit through the Mailslot ;)

What if we are the evil force?

WHOAHHH

The first video shows commander entering hyperspace solo. The last video shows commander is now in a wing with another commander, how and/or when did that happen?

If the first commander's power was knocked out, then why does it look like his shields are still actively protecting him? His hull shows no damage when power came back on... things that make you go hmmm.

In addition to my hyperspace interdiction theory, I got one more. It seems that a UA is needed for this to happen. Maybe they want it back? Or they are just curious about who has it? Or maybe I am talking out of my own rear?

I was moving UA's from the 2nd alien crash site from around 16:00 in-game time today.

I'm not sure if I'm responsible - but if I am.. then I completely deny everything. [where is it]

They certainly appear as if they could be of the same technology. It appears one may call to the other.

So these are like for sure Thargoids right? Since they grabbed him in witch space?

Are there any other races known to inhabbit witchspace?

I don't think they are Thargoids. I think these are "The Guardians" and I also think they're going to assist us when the Thargoid invasion actually does come.

Sweet entrance though, would love to have been the person who saw that for the first time, epic.

The effect of first contact loses its potential punch though when we have time to "process and speculate". Frontier is taking it easy on us, and I find that approach disappointing, tb100%h.

I think I understand what you mean.

It would be pretty amazing if they just started attacking everywhere. The uproar!

It would be very memorable, the entire event and the reactions to it.

Because his ship systems were still functioning. It just locked him out of controlling his ship. Unless he really had his power management down (most of us don't) he would have lost everything, including life support. No o2 timer because no HUD, but also missing the sounds that always are associated with being on emergency oxygen. His ship, technically, was functioning perfectly. He simply had no control of his ship.

Also, this may not be thargoids. Thargoids were known for pulling ships out of witchspace. We don't use witchspace drives. FSDs put you in hyperspace for inter-system jumps. Besides, weren't the thargoids practically exterminated in one of the previous games?

I honestly think the best thing they could do right now is total media silence. That's the best way to introduce aliens, silently through backdoors. I mean look at the stir they've caused already without an official announcement?
