Rng probably based on commander name, distance ship can jump and if you know frontier staff personally or not. Game really is a bit considering the effort some people put in on a daily basis to keep the hype going.

Got interdicted one time with 2 UA, and 2 times without any UA

Wonder if there's enough time for a horn with the UP prior to the Unknown Ship jumping out.

UAs seem to be a semi-common thread. Anyone have an encounter while having a UA in a CRCR?
Yes, I've experienced this. Single UA held in CRCR rack.
I currently have a UA and a UP on board.. been jumping around the Maia/Merope area for an hour or so.. so far nothing..
I made it to Obsidian Orbital, nothing so far. I'm glad i made it, this was my first trip outside the bubble on unkown space, so exciting hehe

I've got two in a CRCR. I'm in an Asp-X. Around 60 jumps this evening and no hyperdiction.
So the buddy system is starting up? Fly with a friend and alternate jump times to see if someone and join the event by following the wing beacon.
Also have people tried supercruising after a hyperdiction?
I like how since there have been no patches this would've been added in the last one over a month ago. I doubt people are only just finding them so there was most likely a timer to trigger after the new year sometime.

Where did you find the UP? I have been looking for hours. On the other hand I got interdicted with a UA and 4/5 of the ancient objects in the ancient alien station.
Nothing unusual happened. I was hoping they would like what I have but nope! They just went back to witch space.
Seems like this is the first bread crumb, next would be a way to follow that wake...
Aaaannd.. 3 or 5 jumps after I typed this.. I get hyper-dicted.. same outcome as every other event so far..

Dont bother to go out looking for the Thargoids at the moment unless you are in a fully G5 rated combat ship wing.
The kiddies asked their mum and dad if they could stay up late. So of course they are running around ganking all non combat ships. I wonder if FDEV will ever do anything about it. Its getting silly at this point. I have enough for 2 more rebuys, but some people may not be as lucky as I am.

Got pulled out of witchspace once. Did the following experiments.
Experiments tried:
Scanned the wake and got new piece of data. Could not follow scanned wake.
I tried an ECM on it and it did nothing. I also tried one on the wake and it did nothing.
I had 1 meta alloy and one each of the items from the alien ruins.( ancient casket, urn, tablet, totem, sphere thingy, artifact triangle. I also had one UA. The only thing that differed from the original video was at the end when it was doing that yellow scanning thing, it did not make that sound like an explosion. It just powered down nice and then flew off.

Experiments that need to be completed.
Someone needs to do a very quick manifest scan. I suggest the longest range one you can get. It books it to get out of there.
Next would be to have UP and possible a Soontil relic in the hold. See if it acts different

If you are in a combat ship you should be safe from the children currently out there. They wont interdict you are in a wing or a combat ship. There Idea of PVP means that the other player needs to be flying a non combat ship.
They could have had a cool half million in cargo had they not blown me up. O well you cant fix stupid.

This is not true. I posted a picture earlier in the thread of me shooting the alien while in my Cobra.
+rep for clearing that up. I must have missed your video.
To me it looks like they're snacking but just a nibble.
I base this idea on the particles that seem to be streaming from our ships to the starfish during the yellow "scan". I had thought maybe they're pushing our ships but our ships aren't moving against the background so the moving star field effect is particles streaming from our ships to them. What could that mean? Are they drawing energy from our ships, from the UA's? Other than us as a light snack they seem pretty disinterested.
