A close up view of the cockpit

I've been checking the images of when the ship scans and it seems as though the circles each side of the cockpit is where the green/yellow scan 'tendrils' emerge from.

Other things to note are the 'structures' around the canopy. Not sure if they are external or we are seeing part of the control systems..

One of the first "first contact"-videos was a guy in an Anaconda. The alien ship flew briefly through his shadow, which gives us an indication of the scale of the alien vessel. It seems huge.

Would it be frowned upon if someone were to activate the debug cam during the encounter, and if possible clip through the alien ship?

Question: Does anyone know if anyone has been interdicted while carrying a UA with Professor Palin's Corrosion Resistant Racks?

Because I've just got one of Palin's special cargo racks and I've been jumping around for hours and not been hyperdicted yet.

I saw one video where someone brought up the tooltip for the Xbox D-Pad and it showed the Camera missing from the options, so no you can't use the debug camera during the encounter.

Has anyone been disrupted in a wing yet?

The very first video, the guy was in a wing, but not in the same location as the other guy.

This doesn't really surprise me, but as someone else mentioned, it might have been remapped.
The debug cam is disabled in hyperspace, so the same rule might well apply in this situation as well.
Ill try if I get hyper..pulled..interdicted..whatever it's called now.

Hi all, long absent Cannon member here! I saw the amazing discovery last night! Congratulations to everyone here for being a step closer in our efforts to uncover the secrets behind these Alien vessels. As a researcher who has been largely absent for a while I've not been directly involved for some time, but I have been reading about all your endeavours and it feels like now is a good time to jump back in and assist wherever I can. On which note, what are the current avenues we're looking into? How can I help?

RP off: I'd have gone through the thread but there's sooooo many pages.

The CMDR in question might have it map elsewhere.

I interpreted his actions as bringing up the tooltip because he found he couldn't activate the debug camera, and wondered whether it was there or not. That's what I'd do lol.

It’s not just around Maia. Last night I was 6000 lys out from Jaques heading back for the bubble and I too thought every one of my hyperspace jumps had much more yellow and orange in it than usual. Like a highly noticeable amount more. I’ve not been pulled out of witchspace yet up around Colonia, but hyperspace itself does seem….different.

I noticed this in the hyperspace graphics from the first couple of vids and kept an eye out when I set off from the bubble. All was completely normal when I set off so I assumed it was just a difference between Xbox and PC at first. However, the Orange/Yellow mottling crept in as I got nearer to the sites of the first reported encounters. I went to the Aries Dark Sector one first, tried a few systems around there then got ganked. I then headed to the Pleiades and the same thing happened with the change in the hyperspace colouring - normal when I set out in the bubble and the Orange/Yellow mottling coming in as I moved towards the Pleiades.

The external cam doesn't activate during the sequence. It isn't possible to use it in any form...

Galactic News: Thargoids Sighted?

Media outlets throughout the galaxy are abuzz with news of an event that many are interpreting as an encounter with non-human life.

According to reports, an independent pilot by the name of Commander DP Sayre was interdicted en route to the Aries Dark Region XU-O b6-3 by a highly unusual ship bearing no resemblance to any known human craft.

As the Commander's ship was plucked from hyperspace, all their systems were completely disabled. The mysterious craft subjected the pilot's vessel to some kind of scan before departing, at which point the hapless Commander's ship returned to life.

Commentators reviewing the pilot's recording of the event have noted strong similarities between the mysterious craft and the shipwrecks found in the Pleiades Sector AB-W B2-4 and the HIP 17862 system.

Is the ship a Thargoid vessel? This is the question many are asking.

We will continue to bring you up-to-the-minute updates on this story.
