Is there an update on whether those winterdicted without UAs have held them in the past? There doesn't seem to have been an update about the 'clean' save about this.

Ive noticed one thing that makes them alien even more than they are. Our ships are shaped like rectangles and pointy, blocky and what not so the FSD can easily put us in the tunnel and propel us forward. the scouts FSD? Nah man "I can be anything i want so ill see you later." and then proceeds to jump 500ly

Best Footage I have Seen ...

Commander Cula-Ta has recorded a hyperdiction in 1080p60 and got some great footage of the alien face, tentacles and wormhole

When you get hyperdicted has anyone noticed anything interesting about the system you are dropped in or where heading after the event. what i mean by that is. dose the system you where heading to have ammonia worlds in it or something that keeps cropping up that makes the ship hyperdict you?

just a thought.

From a meta point of view, would FD design something with eight-fold symmetry and hyperspace interdictions that wasn't Thargoid (given those two things are defining characteristics of Thargoids)? IMHO, no, to do so would be trolling the playerbase and I don't think they'd do that. That's why I am content to call these aliens "Thargoid" until they are proven not to be.

Aaaand, as always happens, I agree with Red Wizzard... moreover, everyone should read the updates Drew Wagar posted on his Thargoid lore guide, that is back online TODAY, mentioning in its timeline THIS close encounter...

I'm not saying it's Thargoid, but... it is...

Can people report their hyperdiction times and location of drop out. I was in TS in my group when I was Hyperdicted it was at 00:53 game time so we wonder if this is a 10 minutes up to the hr occurrence. or maybe resets like the servers for mission board does. Could be interesting if there is a pattern in both times and location.

Laides and Gentlemen. Today I will attempt something nobody has tried before. Going through the portal. or at least getting close enough to fully see whats on the other side. Wish me luck. I will see you all on the otherside.

Commander Cookiejarvis. Out.

I've heard that if you make a jump withing 200 LY of maia there is a chance for you to be hyperdicted. I'm heading there tomorrow. I've never had a UA or UP, and have never been near one, so we'll see what happens.

I'm still a extremely skeptical of calling it a wormhole since the "being" or "vessel" going through it and now a ship being tossed out of it doesn't exhibit any of the identifiers of passing into a wormhole. Specifically the device entering the wormhole from a distance would stretch or elongate after passing through the wormhole's event horizon and then regain it's shape on the other side. Also the wormhole doesn't appear as a 3D spherical point in space but rather a flatter 3D disc. Since Elite Dangerous is know for its several different types of FTL travel methods it is far more likely that the "being" or "vessel" transverses space via its own unknown method rather than creating a wormhole since wormholes would more logically take on the modeling of what they really are which are black holes.

Besides which in creating a wormhole the ship would be creating a black hole literally in front of all interdicted (no need to use "Hyperdicted" as the term interdicted still applies) ships and all interdicted ships would literally experience the forces of a black hole directly in front of them which would at it's center be as massive as the ship entering it and would then be held open by some exotic element. This would absolutely destroy any ships in the surrounding area which aren't encapsulated within the opening of the wormhole and this would include the "being" or "vessel" entering the hypothesized wormhole. To not pass through the crushing forces of a black hole and to reach the stable opening of a wormhole it would have to be created around the object creating it rather than in front of the object and then traveling into it.

It may seem like semantics, but we at the Confederacy of Vulcan prize our logical application of proper terminology in order to provide the most accurate explanation of events. If I also might suggest that a brief reading up on schwarzschild black holes as the subject matter is extremely enlightening on this subject.
