-Alien ship seems to hyperdict (the term we are using for interdiction in hyperspace) your ship if you have a UA on board. Have yet to have proof of anyone doing it without one.
Many have gotten "hyperdicted" I suppose. Here's my encounter in 1440p@60fps - as the ship flies by me you can cleary see some green light close to the cockpit:
Is there an update on whether those winterdicted without UAs have held them in the past? There doesn't seem to have been an update about the 'clean' save about this.
I'm going there tomorrow and I've had zero interaction with anything alien, from Barnacles, to Meta Alloys, I've never even been in the systems where these alien artifacts are found. I've just been watching it all unfold without urgency to get involved. And I've been playing since Gamma days. But now the Thargoids (I belive, I belive) have appeared my interest has now peaked to get some close up and personal experiences. [woah]
*pant* I *pant* just went *pant* through half of the old forum threads to get here. *gasp* So... This is Canonn. Nice place ya got here. Anyways, down to business. I was wondering about all the alien (Thargoid?) ships pulling everyone out, and I wanted to get in on the action. I would like to know if i need a UA to be pulled out of witchspace or if I just get pulled out of random.
Thanks you guys for all the good work you do in the community. We would be chickens with our heads cut off with out proper organizations like Canonn.
Following on from a promise to show pics in an earlier couple of posts, I'm going to present you all the evidence and hopefully demonstrate to everyone's satisfaction that the ships from the encounters and the crash sites are of the same type. (Though given how long it's taken to pull it all together, the matter's probably already been put to bed in the meantime!)
Exhibit A - The Wings/Petals
As can be seen from the encounters, there are two parts to the Wings/Petals:
Full:
Closeup:
Compare the part on the underside (images above are looking from the underside) with the following from the crash site:
Now look at the topside from the encounters:
Full:
Closeup:
And compare to the following from the crash:
Also take a look at the following images of the main body/hull of the ship from the crash site, where the attachments points of the upper wings/petals can be seen, along with where the point of one of the wings has been forced through the hull in the crash and what looks like a small attachment point:
The small attachment point would match the shape of the inner tip of the lower petal/wing, and is likely where it attaches to the body/hull.
Exhibit B - The underside of the ship (Tendrils and other parts):
There are two distinct sets of parts on the underside of the ships from the encounters, the parts that resemble tendrils and the parts which are at an angle between the tendrils and the petals/wings (the latter set contain what appear to be the thrusters)
These can be seen in the videos, the first image in this post, and the following:
For the set that contain the thrusters, compare these to the following from the crash site:
Different parts of the section are buried or missing in the two images above and I've had to flip one for ease of comparison, but the overall structure/shape of the section should be clear when comparing the two.
For the tendrils, compare these to the following from the crash site:
View showing side and edge of a piece lying flat:
View showing the edge of a piece embedded point first in the ground:
And, for completeness, the underside of the hull/body at the crash site (the side that's facing up), considering in particular the 8 areas which might be attachment points for the tendrils or thruster sections, and the various octagons and the various other general 8-fold symmetries:
Exhibit C - Size
See the below:
As you can see, the hull/body at the crash site is in the order of the size of an Anaconda (maybe two thirds the size). With the petals/wings all attached, the crashed ship would be much bigger than an Anaconda.
That concludes the evidence and my case is now over to you all for consideration. (Or probably over to you all to tell me I've been ninja'd! )

Any CMDRs check their materials inventory after the scan? I've yet to be hyperdicted, but I am wondering if they might be feeding off of those mats found on barnacle worlds. Given the docile, if not unorthodox, nature of the encounter that occurs. I speculate that the interdiction may not be an aggresive act. but a product of an organism that exists beyond the veil of normal space having its tendrils snared by a passing "morsel", paralyzes it (interdiction), and then feeds off it, leaving the chaff behind(our hulls and systems, pilots).
But this kind of ability, technological or evolutionary, would be extremely valuable to a power: corporate, political, or militaristic. Maybe, invaluable in fighting another wave of 'goids.
What if *we* are to be the Guardians of this species from ... us?

You absolutely do not need a UA or any antecedents with a UA to get Hyperdicted. You don't need Horizons either.
Just did it with my secondary account in a filmsy eagle with nothing it it.
Has anyone noticed that the scout is now gone i had 1 interdiction and i have been trying to get another since yesterday... about 12 hours has been put in to this and only 1 found... is it gone? i mean... if so.... thats a scary thought

Hey CMDRdabbler4 here, I am new to the forums but I thought I'd sign up to post this. I have been reading about some of The Canonn discoveries, and I thought maybe a fresh perspective and some logical train of thought might help (Or might not, feel free to correct me as I want to learn more anyways!)
Everyone is discussing WHAT is happening with first contact, but no one is looking at the WHY. So let's list some things we know:
* So far, all encounters have been friendly (as far as we know)
* Given the frequency of contacts, the neutrality of the alien ship, the 'Scanning' process that takes place, the higher probability it occurs with UA's AND the leaving once this has been done, all points towards one thing; They are searching for something within our system. It seems like they are search and recovering. The random probes, xdeath's discovery or the ruins, has all happened fairly closely with one another.
* With the above thought process, what are the unique item's that come to mind?
The question I am posing is this (And it's a long shot, but it kind of does make sense).... Has anyone attempted first contact with the Artifacts/data in cargo hold, from SYNUEFE XR-H D11-102 that Xdeath discovered? Can someone confirm this has been done? And are their any other item's we may be overlooking perhaps?
Yes. I had one of each of the items from the ruins in my hold as well as a full compliment of obelisk data scans in my ship. In addition to a UA and Meta alloy. It did not seem to change the encounter at all.
I think it's a "Space Ent". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conifer_cone
Seriously guys, get cleaner audio and analyze every second of it. there's the binary message at least.
Re the menacing music in the encounters, is this played even when you have in game music disabled? If so then that (IMO) almost definitively proves that this is a scripted encounter. Which if true would also mean that nothing anyone does is going to change what happens in these encounters. Yet.
EDIT:
However upon further review, that music could probably be classified as a sound effect. Now I'm no longer confident with my first thought.
The glare it has morse code, I can't find any footage to analyze perfectly, but maybe you can, LOOK AT THE GLARE, THERE'S A CODE THERE, EVERY HYPERDICTION HAS THAT CODE IN IT!
Exactly; our smaller ships use FSD Tech and that thing looks like its using Witch Space Drive (WSD) Tech, which only Capital ships and Jacques's Station use if I'm not mistaken.
Has anyone seen a capital ship jump out of a CZ? Does it fire a beam out of it's front to open a portal? I know they jump into CZ's through portal holes, but are the portals made similarly?
Unfortunately your information is outdated. The devs have recently stated that capital ships use the same drive technology that ours do, just on a much larger scale. I think there was an MB quote about it so might be on the first page somewhere.
