I was even thinking of starting a thread on the subject... too lazy. Have you (or anyone else) actually found any? I haven't yet, but then, I don't go out of my way to explore the superhot star types where Class IV and Class V are most probable.
i mainly travel to places (still working down my list of real galaxy hypergiants ingame). how much i scan depends on mood - often i scan nothing, i scan the star when fuelscooping in my DBE, and i scan anything that catches my attention. i love waterworlds.
longest travel was 51 sessions in 2 and a half month, 2700 jumps, 3800 level 3 (detailed) scans. i prefer shorter tours
sometimes i do a survey - for exampel: find a pristine metallic! find an over-average-source of ruthenium. in that case i scan every potential planet, of course.
if out exploring, i don't stick to rules.

Mmmh, I'll guess my most systems ever trip was the big one to Sag A* and back again, back in vanilla, shortly after release. I'd wager the trip took some 3000 systems in total. I can't really say for sure, though, as I never kept any notes. Maybe some old screenshot with statistics could be found somewhere on these forums?

My longest trip was to Beagle Point and back, as part of the Distant Worlds Expedition. The entire trip took ~4 months. If I was in a hurry to get to the next waypoint I often just scanned the main star and any other nearby companion stars. Sometimes I'd also scan interesting or valuable planets. To break things up, I'd sometimes scan the entire system (including moons, but not belts).
When I sold my exploration data, I went from Pathfinder at 60% to Pioneer at 61% (completely skipping over Ranger) and earned over 106 million credits. After a short break, I went to Jaques Station in Colonia for a CG and when I got back to the bubble, I reached Elite rank (and got a whole bunch of first found systems and planets).
