Help ... full tank but can't jump :)

I've just neutron start boosted into a Class G system (Plaicho GC-T c20-0) and am now unable to jump out.

My nearest star is 33.96LY away, but my jump range is only "33.39LY (36.02LY)".

I have some jumponium, but when I try to use "FSD Boost" (to give a jump range of 41.73LY (45.03LY)) I get the message "Jump exceeds drive fuel use limit of 5.00 tons".

I have a non-engineered Asp (class A FSD) with a full tank.

Any ideas / advice would be much appreciated ?

Check that you have replotted the route, or the plotter will still think that you don't have the range.

I've no clue what's going on there. Using that jumponium should allow you to jump there, quite easily too. This maybe too obvious but, uhh, have you tried relogging? Something certainly seems to be off there.

+1, if you haven't gone to the galmap to reclick your destination, do so now.

Forgive me asking the obvious question - have you synthesised some jumponium to try the jump?

Aha ... (hangs head in shame) ...

Never actually used "FSD Boost", so hadn't worked out the "need to synthesize in the first place" bit of the equation.

I've now managed to jump out and am heading back to a more densely populated area of space.

Cheers for the support ... o7

Glad you got it sorted, ED is quite unforgiving. I have been playing just just over a tear now and still learn new things ;-)

No problem - we have all made silly mistakes :p

Upgrade your FSD. If it is already the highest class that will fit, engineer it for increased FSD range and look for the "higher fuel use" attribute. It should increase as your jump range increases. It is not a measure (apparently) of how much fuel you use but of how much fuel you can use in a jump.

Cheers for the advice ... but I'm currently 45KLY from Sol, heading to Beagle Point.

And as you can see from my earlier post, I had a minor PEBKAC moment :)

Safe Journey - if you are new to these things take GREAT CARE if you try to FSD boost from a White Dwarf - they are killers
Check some of the threads on FSD boost for safety.
Have fun at BP :)
'PEBCAK' :S:S

Yup ... had to boost of one to get myself out of this particular pickle.

Hadn't realised you don't get the same 4x boost from a WD that you do from a NS !!

Luckily it wasn't a problem, but I'll know for next time.
