General / Off-Topic Time to Solicit JJ Abrams for an Elite Movie Franchise?!

It should be a television series IMHO, in the vein of BSG or Firefly but in the Elite universe with Elite ships and stations and it’s world and galaxy. Episodic in nature with interesting characters and growth, maybe even simply start off following the adventures of a T-7 crew something as they make their living out in the galaxy. If done with the same level of skill that both BSG and Firefly were done with it could be fracking amazing. I’d love to see it done personally.

Star Citizen would probably make the better film tie in, but then it would essentially just be low budget star wars.

mind you i would be 100% fine with low budget star wars, hell i even watched the wing commander movie.

Elite would only be movie material once the game is "complete".... not sure how the film could get around the only able to land on airless worlds, and to just "ignore" that and have eva and atmosperic landings would basically mean the game was not about elite dangerous at all and i would just watch it thinking... "if only".

maybe 5 years from now tho, once we know what is going on with the thargoids etc....................

I'd be up for an Elite movie or Tv Show, but please not JJ Abrams... he already demonstrated how much he didn't understand Star Trek and instead he made "Star Wars with Kirk & Spock" movies instead...

They could make a movie when the Federation was at war with the Empire. I watch that.

Elite would be better served in a Game of Thrones style TV series. The whole Empire, Alliance, Feds, many characters, all varying shades of grey, characters making discoveries in the far reaches of space that will shake humanity to it's core...

The beauty of ED, is that it is so open, with so much lore - and epic hardware ready to go....

Noooo, not J.J. Abrams!!!!!

If he ever gets his hands on Elite, planets will be in visual range of each other, he'll eliminate supercruise and have commanders teleport instantly from one planet to another, Broo Tarquin will offer laser mods to shoot through supercruise, and Thargoids will probably be exact clones of the xenomorphs from the Alien franchise.

i think i may face the wrath of the forum here but.

i like what Abrams did with startrek 2009, i thought the 2nd was ok, not seen the newest yet but as a general rule, i do like his work. .

I was already fantasizing about a series like that in the 90s when I played FE2.

Abrams is terrible and incredibly overrated.
