So just thinking-the coloured patches of ground at the ruins (&someone found in a poi somewhere else)- could they be alien weapon impact points? Has anyone checked the ruins to see if those patches have disappeared following this fix?

How does the player journal work? Is it something I can use to make notes in? Never found an explanation of this feature!

The 'journal' is probably the most confusingly named thing in the game. It's basically a load of metadata produced by the game that can be used to populate third party apps with data relating to your activities. So in short yes it's a permanent record of what you do but no, it isn't an actual in-game feature of thew kind that the game should have had since day one. Instead it will require a third party to create an app or similar to actually present the information in a useful way.

Note - there are already some third party apps that do this but as with any third party app you're using something which is completely unofficial and has no support other than that which can be provided by the developer, who will usually be working on the app as a hobby or out of the goodness of their heart.

thanks. I already use EDD which Im very happy with. Just wondered what this "journal" thing was.

I don't spend a whole lot of time on planet surfaces. Are tile marks like this normal?

I thought it was included with the EDD files but here's a link - unzip the files into your %User%/appdata/edddiscovery/maps folder and restart EDD then you should be able to select the formidine map there.

Norton bars that as a malicious website & I can't download the map zip. Could you pop it into Dropbox or something similar please?

No beacon in EAFOTS LZ-H B10-0. I'm starting to wonder if someone forgot to re-enable the content on the server after the client update.

In the beta, didn't they just remove the items which were causing the crash?

They might have just removed the assets which were causing the crash.

That’s troubling. Without the beacons there isn’t any in-game way to actually find the CTD areas, correct? I mean we all know their locations because the beacons were there before, but if the beacons haven’t been re-enabled then you have to wonder if the CTD assets on the surfaces also haven’t been re-enabled….
