How'd you get the second one to pop up? Are you in solo, PG, or open, and if the latter two, how busy is your instance?

I'm thinking the population of each instance might be the key. More obelisks might activate as more people join the instance to help ease congestion or something.

I am in Mobius, there was a good few of us here. Not many now. They were both active upon approach, I had scanned obelisk 5 before going to it.

Of course a leading architect in high rise construction does not a massive stone pyramid construction expert make. Entirely different principles involved.

He wasn't just a world leading architect for high rise buildings, he was a world leading expert on how to build massive structures.
That's why the documentary was about him and the Great Pyramid.
I can't find the documentary, if I could I'd just post it.

Could someone link me or create a updated spreadsheet showing what combinations of materials work with what obelisk, History 11: C+Ta doesn't help. thanks ;)

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this but I've been doing some testing by scanning an obelisk (in this case 14 on the map) and got the "try another combination" message from Ram Tah each time until I found the combination which unlocked the data. Now when I scan it I no longer get any message so I think the try again message quite literally means that obelisk still has data to give where one which doesn't generate a message is in effect exhausted. Obviously this is only me looking at it so doesn't mean to say it would hold true with a bigger sample.

The one in middle row of right side cluster?
So far I've only seen those two 1st of the left row in that cluster active (the 2 closest ones to those active in the screenie).

I'm 75% sure I scanned those exact 3 obelisks in this picture just 15 minutes ago on Solo.

Though scan failed, and the obelisks still didn't came back online.

Yes it is.

The planet with the ruin is not tidally locked. It rotates on it side(about 90° axial tilt.).

Last I looked the planet was tidally locked to the parent brown dwarf. I pointed out that the tidal coupling of the satellite is stronger and this is a bug in Stellar forge.

I disconnected, now a different new one is active.

I scanned the previous 2 with Urn+Relic and Tablet+Totem without success and now they are gone. I am in open and there are a lot of people.

Has anyone taken the time to count all of the obelisks that are still standing (not toppled over)? Just from a guesstimate from the aerial map it's in the ballpark of 100, but it's really hard to tell. If there are in fact exactly 100 obelisks standing, then I think that could potentially rule out the possibility of there being multiple alien sites...and we'd probably want to focus in on how these extra obelisks are getting activated so we can work towards activating the rest.

I'm about to count them. trying to get back into the game. getting DC'd every few minutes

There are way more obelisks lighted in open. In the two big rows of what I call the lading pad, there are at least 3 new obelisks. It's impossible to track what does what like this. Still there if anyone wants to join efforts.

So is there a way to judge if you have the right key(s) prior to scanning an active obelisk? I read somewhere people suggested that the sound might indicate this but tbh I've not noticed a real difference in my ears between the two.

The 3/4 group also has a new one.

We definitely need to find out how these additional obelisks are getting activated and then test all item-combinations on them as well.

Im sat at the ruins and have so far unlocked 15 obilisks, when i relog to light the obilisks in private/solo the same group of obilisks are lit (the ones mentioned the the spreadsheets) and when i use the items as describes I get no message. When i login to open, sometimes different obilisks are lit, so my question is :- Do all the obilisks have to be scanned correctly first time everytime in each instance in order to unlock the next obilsks, and by reseting the instance does this chain get broken and when i logon; i have to start from scratch.

if thats true would someone like to meet up and get through this together, if I scan a obilisk with nothing in my hold it will say i've collected Alpha, Beta, delta information, if I pass this into to my wingman, could they collect the corresponding items ie:- Urn=Alpha, Totem=Beta, and the scan the obilsk again to collect the info for the rest of the wing?

is that how it works or is it just pure random chance where we are expected to relog once we have made a pass of the ruins solo each time and try andother combo?;

Do you relog after every scan or is there an activation timer you wait on?

I did think this might go off topic once I mentioned it as a comment.

The most staggering thing about the Great Pyramid of Giza isn't the fact that it's just a huge pyramid made of stone,
it's the way it was precisely built on the outside AND the inside.
It's vastly different to the simpler step style pyramids in mexico
I can't find the documentary from uk tv, I'm looking for on youtube.

Basically one of the worlds leading architects of high rise buildings went in to the Great Pyramid,
at first he was being fairly normal about the structure, amazed, but fairly normal.. but when he saw the Grand Gallery in the center of the pyramid, his mind was blown.

One of the worlds leading experts on high rise construction, shook his head, he was completely lost for words, he didn't know how it could have been done.
The slightest miscalculation in that part of the pyramid would have brought the whole thing to the ground.

It's like building the Hoover Dam, but in such a structurally complex way, that it would be twice and difficult to build.

5000 years ago.

there is a french architect who has a pretty good theory how its made and its proven to be doable in a computer simulation. the giant gallery actually is a sliding mechqanism for a counter weight.
