Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I am getting lots of crashes since last hour or so playing in open. Also I scanned two ruins as descibed in the new map on the front page but didn't get any data.

Having spent the last 2 days trying to complete a full set of scans in solo - and getting the usual 13 datasets, I tried going into mobius this am to see if it would make a difference.

First instance, there were several other commander around and new obelisks active, in short order, I received two more "hits" - although it was impossible to tell where they came from due to huge delays. cue disconnect.

Next few instances had the original 15 obelisks active with nothing new. Eventually, I found one with new obelisks again and received another hit - although I was halfway back to Brestla to get another SRV before getting the message, so again, no idea which one it came from. My total now stands at 16. Each instance I find now is either alone or with a few other commanders but the same old obelisks active. Frustration mounts!!!

I am getting about a 10 minute delay in between the scan and the inbox message

Anyone else getting that?

Hey there, tonight it was quiet more/at relog, guess its a lagg cause off... well... hundretzmillionzcreditz!!!111ONE ;)

Edit: You can still check if the scan was sucsesfull via taking a look at the mission status, if you got a million more you got some new data

I did not visit the ruins since the patch because I'm in the Rift right now, but I try to follow this thread.
I remember, before the patch we discussed about the diagrams shown on the obelisks.
Are they still there?
If yes, could they contain one ore more information about the following:
- combo or item for successful scan
- result of scan
- next active obelisk

Sorry if this was already mentioned and I overread it
What to check:
- are the diagrams a marker?
- if so, what is their meaning?

I thought of that; I took about 50 screenshots each of O7, O10, and O11 as they went through their patterns, then reviewed them. There's definitely a pattern, but it was the same across all three obelisks, so I can't think the diagram has any particular clues in it.

Anyone else wondering how a civilization with FTL communication and travel can die out, other than warfare with another species?

Who says they died out?

So if you're in the business of analyzing audio, there are some strange noises being heard at the ruins site. Drifter and a couple others have confirmed their presence.

Link to an audio/video file please

So why did Ram Tah call them Guardians?

Will the answer be in one of the yet recorded language or culture or history files?

Oh has anyone tried doubles?

So orb and orb or totem and totem?

One technology mentions biological weapons being useless against AI.

I have 3 possible theories based on what we've got:

1- Is that those who were not integrated into the system, were killed in the civil war by those who were, and the rest could have been killed all at once by their own AI.
2- They transcended their biology and became completely cybernetic beings, and the whole civilization lives within the computer network.
3- Their easily exploitable network *cough* Galnet *cough* was accessed by a certain alien race who likes to scan every ship they encounter. With this, they could find every possible settlement and do a blitzkrieg, a simultaneous attack that could destroy their entire civilization.

Edit:

The signs of violence in some obelisks could mean that 3 is the most likely scenario.

Also, I think their entire race may not have perished, the losers of the civil war, the ones that did not interfaced with the network, could have survived isolated from the rest of its civilization.

It's possible the beacons have some sort of influence over the Obelisk sets. My game crashed again, so I'll see the status of the place when I get back. I'll focus on mapping the Obelisk sets for now and then worry about artifact combinations.

One thing's for sure now. There are at least 101 data points in total:

21 Historical
21 Language
20 Technology
20 Cultural
19 Biological

I'll also transcribe all of the data points I have at the moment so that we can put everything together in one place.

Already done.

I think I know the Pattern.

We know for example that bio is urn and alpha Pattern and culture is totem and beta And so on. When you you scan the obelisks with the wrong combo, it tells you "oh, I have beta and gamma patterns", so this means you haver to scan that obelisk with totem and casket for it to work. And so on.

What you guys think?

Few CMDRs are trying to solve the mistery, everyone is just greed for money.

Let's focus, guys!

Most things as far as I could tell when I was following it earlier seem to just sound the same. I did try to follow a sound that reminds me of air escaping, but it just lead me way off out of the ruins and I never found anything.

They're one and the same.
