I always hoped that Betelgeuse would explode in my lifetime or at least something of a similar magnitude. Guess I will be waiting for 2022 to arrive. Here is how Betelgeuse will probably look when its time finally runs out.

Betelgeuse is far enough away that it would need to explode before your lifetime if you were to see it.

Yes I am quite aware of that. I have always been interested in the mysteries of the universe so I am well aware of distances, light years etc. Betelgeuse may have exploded centuries ago but until that light reaches us we will never know. [yesnod]
