i dont know if i am getting the error because i still have the rare item in my inventory for which i got the first error for.

i have 3 rare items in my inventory and only 1 item is showing on the cargo panel - xihecompanions

I have a suggestion/question: Would it be possible to give us an optional recent EDDN full database to use as a starter local database that we then have to maintain ourselves? Or Possibly just an optional EDDN connected database for players who want it.

I love this tool, and I'd rather use this than anyone of the web based ones available now, but I don't have the time to build up a useful local database, so this tool just isn't very useful, but I love it. It's a struggle I'm dealing with.

Much appreciation for what you've already done with TCE MK.II. It's the best tool I've seen since trade tools were becoming a thing, it would be legendary if it had an option for an EDDN connected/Recent EDDN database starter database option.

Edit #2? (whhhhaaat??): I know I'm back again, what's up, how's it going. Sooo I may have answered part of my own question here, maybe now I'm looking for verification. I set the TCE-Relay starter database settings to something like ohhhh I dunno say 25k LY Range and 150k LS and Planetary, would the 29,727 Trade Markets and 162,567 Market prices be semi up to date(ish)? If so, do I then keep it up to date by just clicking update prices before I play, or before I want to really trade again? If so, then the real edit to the above edit, would be: Would it be possible to have an optional EDDN connected database that we could use, that updates at 30min intervals or something like that?

Hi, i had similar thought but i do want to build personal data bank first, as i start to learn the trading part of the game. Well i had an idea last night i havnt tried it yet but it could be good and perhaps for u too, idea is that i would build loop trate route with eddb or similar wew sites, even if routes data is out dated, when i find good one from web i would go for test run in game and even if the route were indeed out dated i still could add the market for my trade data bank within tce.

Still i understand it would be quite cool to upload huge data base of markets at once, perhaps it is possible i do not know that yet.

It's possible through the TCE-Relay options, you can set it for like 250Ly and 10000Ls and it'll give you a pretty good amount of data to start with, but it's not all there, like some stations have their outfitting info already, some don't and there doesn't seem to be any sort of quality checking happening with TCE-Relay at those data sizes either, and TCE starts to kinda chug with data sets that big from what I was testing. Like searching for certain modules yielded non fatal errors that also produced no search results. But I suppose what I was asking for is probably not technically possible with the way TCE works/is coded/the software language it uses. Though it still would be awesome to have an optional EDDN connected database that updates (at 30min or higher intervals is probably best) without you having to do anything. Also, a huge part of what I was saying, is that I'd rather not use the web based tools at all, I don't like them at all, and I don't like alt tabbing and switching screens all the time, the only thing I like about the web based tools and some of the much more lacking tools, is EDDN (most of them optional) Connection both ways, for updating EDDN and getting updates from EDDN. That's why I love this tool, it's everything the other tools aren't, but lacks the biggest feature of the other tools, EDDN connection both ways (optionally) automatically.

Yes, TCE-Relay would be your tool to create a starter database (but ofc 25K LY is quite too big, it would fill your database with unnecessary data and slow TCE down massively) around your current position. Also TCE-Relay using the data dump of EDDB to update the prices of your database, but the data dump is created every 24h, so a poll of price data every 30 mins. wouldn't make sense. Additionally TCE can't update the prices via TCE-Relay on the fly, it has to be restarted.

I simply suggest to create a starter database for about 100 - 200 LY in range and update it via TCE-Relay on every day startup. The rest should come by tradeexploration. But it is up to you.

Good trade routes, especially public ones, are quite fast run dry, so most of the time, you will find a route not so profitable as expected. But if you discover one within your own database, you can use it for quite some time to make money, if you don't send the data to EDDB/EDDN via EDMC. But it is up to you, using crowdsource data or your own. I prefer my own, but I can understand, that anyone have a different playstyle. Therefor TCE supporting both ways.

Hi, after the update from 1.4.6.3 to 1.4.6.4 I get now always below .NET error message.

Hey Thank you very much for the response, I eneded up figuring out last night how to setup a good database size, is pretty much how I wanted it! I was also experiencing some error messages when trying to use the trade tab to search for the best place to buy different modules, some modules I clicked and searched for gave me an error, some just didn't return results, and others showed markets/systems where I could go to find them. I'll try to gather some error codes and possibly screen shots to hopefully help in anyway.

Okay so It seems like 175Ly at 10k Ls might be my system's or TCE's max before it really just can't handle it. Will continue to update my findings, will be looking into those error messages from last night, see if I can't reproduce them.

EDIT:Searching for modules with trade tab has been giving me errors with some of the different modules, but not all:

I personally don't have the actual attention span to read through those errors to see if they're different enough from eachother, they appear to be the same.

Have you tried to turn off and on TCE? It seems to fix few errors for me at least.

P.S. My visited market data seems to be still updating to eddb some how, even tho i have uninstalled edmc for time being.
LE: seems to upload only trade data but not outfit data at all, trade data even if i wont scan update prices.

LE: Okey found it out, it was EDDI that send the data.

Please let me make some helpful comments on your vid:
1. Error message on Connect: What is your install folder of TCE? Any special character in it? Can you send me your files with the Report an Error button at the launcher?
2. If using EDMC, it is not required to scan the Commodities Market by hand, or you doing it because of the error above?
3. When scanning the Commodities Market, do not highlight any row of the market with the mouse before pressing the SCAN button or the highlighted commodity is not detected by EliteOCR. See the vid from Scouto at the TCE in Action area at the first post.
4. You scanned the market of "JEMISON RING" but didn't saved your scans, you exited the Commodities panel by the HIDE button.
5. Did you created a starter database or you registered the markets on the fly?

I personally don't have the actual attention span to read through those errors to see if they're different enough from eachother, they appear to be the same.

Hey, i have had couple errors because i try to figure out all these options and click some things in wrong order or something but i restart tce and they are gone, so theres no problem.

Also i found out that it was EDDI what send my trade data to EDDB, i forgot that program totally, i have it with Voice attack.

Thanks for commenting on video, i do sometimes miss the save button totally and then later im wondering what tha heck i did now :)

I just scan on the fly, no other data added yet.

Thanks for letting me know that i wont have to scan markets if i have EDMC installed, did not know that.

P.S i think that error and couple others start it when i got stuck with route planner, couldnt remove planned route and i noticed some difference happened with prices i had registered, they drop from 15k profit to 5k profit but after restart no more errors.
