Ancient Ruins/Mission bug summary

Hello everyone,

as I lost track of what's not working/broken with the Ancient Ruins missions and the bug forums are very busy I compiled this list for myself and thought I could as well share it.
Current count: 16 issues

Bug: 'After 1 scan each the obelisks never return to an active state forcing a relog to achieve this. Therefore any incorrect scan essentially fails the mission.'

Bug: 'While exploring the Synuefe ruins the Obelisk are not resetting after scanning while in Solo or in Private Group and on the planet alone.'

Bug: When scanning Obelisks the audio "mission critical message" is correctly announced but often there is no new message. Later the message is queued up and delivered for a different scan.

Status: 'The Obelisks should become active again after a period of time. However we've had several reports about this so we're looking into it.'

Bug: Cmdrs get result of scans from every other cmdrs at the site so if no artefacts in your ship hold you'll be spammed by ram tams wrong combination message, if you have all the artefacts in your hold you'll start getting positive scan results

Bug:Random disconnects and CTD

Bug: While scanning alien obelisks for Ram Tah's mission, the incoming mission critical updates on upper-left panel occasionally self-deletes without player input, or player being actually being able to read it.

The real question is how will they fix these bugs? Will there have to be a 2.2.04 or can they do it during server maintenance like other online games do?
 
So what I got out of all the responses from FDev is:

"Thanks for reporting we are looking into it and everything "should" be working as intended"

Ya'll come back now ya hear!
 
It is also important to note that many reports were made the 12th. It has been a week since then, enough time to give an answer explaining what is going on and what to expect. FD is setting a extremely low standard and in so many levels. They didn't even get the text messages right, as many of the messages from Ram Tah present typos.

Also, you forgot to list the frequent game crashes.

Jeez, having been out here (at the ruins) for a couple of days, I was starting to wonder at the way some of it works..it felt pretty broken. Mainly the Obelisks not resetting until you exit the game (completely) and relog in. But according to those bug reports it not clear if ED expect people to do this (ridiculous and lame if so) or if it is a bug:

These sound like the same prob, one answer says its a bug the other says its normal?

The other main problem I have is the lag with messages from Ram Tah, either not showing at all or showing 2 at once on every second scan.

This is pretty bad. :(
 
When major bugs on time-critical activities like this happen on Star Trek Online, they're fixed within a couple of days, and in some cases within hours. Why not here? Why is there so much apathy when it comes to rapid bugfixes? I don't believe they don't have the time.
 
That's....a lot.

Maybe they aren't bugs, but are features to add to the mystery of the ruins? [praise]

I remember reading about Ram Tah doing something about the Obelisk Data Scans quite a while back.
Recently went to the Engineer to get me a few Mods and also got this Mission into my Transaction Tab.

I have to admit, I considered trying that Mission. For about 4-5 Seconds. Then abandoned it for good right there.
Now I know I did exactly the right thing...

So far, nothing about the Ancient Ruins felt right to me. This continuing trend of "nothing working as it should" appears unbroken.
It's untested Alpha/Internal Build after all - and we all know how long it takes to work off at least half the mountain of even a 4-6 weeks long Beta.

It doesn't help that some time ago they redesigned the ruins site AFTER it went live. There used to be a spire near that gap in the outer wall. It's since vanished, and some of the remaining spires have migrated, and new small structures have cropped up and even the terrain is different in some areas. Seems like the sort of thing that should've been worked out BEFORE the ruins went live. I figured they weren't expecting us to find them so soon after 2.2 dropped.

Also wanted to start with the mission but now I guess it will be another disappointment (as if we had not already enough. powerplay, missionboard, C&P.... :x ).


ps: remember the time when we got 1-3 hotfixes in a week?
 
A statement from FDEV on this would be nice. I also planned to go to the ruins with my friends but then heard about the possibility of bugs and decided not to go. When will this puzzle work as intended?

Thanks for making this thread, it saved me from the frustration of not knowing what is happening. It's also a pain to find stuff buried in other threads with dozens of pages. So again, thanks for effort in making this list!

i just completed the ancent ruin mission... i had 8 mill in my account .... with the completion i should have had 201 + 8 mill... instead i get 194mill total... what,s that all about... 14 mill missing
