Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

So Solo is working correctly and "You can still get the scans elsewhere." what? elsewhere, meaning another ruin site???, that we have no clues to the location of yet, or clues are there we just haven't noticed them?

So 15 active obelisks but we can only get 13 scans, no ( sane ) amount of time causes them to reset but that is working as intended ?

We are obviously missing something important and I've no idea what. So many bugs found around this so far we are hard pressed to know what is suppose to happen vs what's a bug.
Some clarification on what bugs are definitely bugs IS required.

Elsewhere! :D

At a guess I would think we are missing at least one more item/s. Have the alien crash sites been checked since the mission went live?

That would mean after you scan an obelisk with a wrong combo in solo and it turns off, you have to relog in solo to scan it again with another combination. So relogging would be part of the solving if this is correct behavior.

get the scans elsewhere.
scans elsewhere..
elsewhere..

Well, we are all waiting for the next spoon, I guess.

Yeah, it’s that “elsewhere” part that is stopping us. Either we aren’t finding some important info that the current ruins should be providing us with, or we simply have to wait until Frontier implements the next breadcrumb. At least we now know that Solo is working properly, and we should only be getting the 13 scans that we do from the current ruins. That’s good to know at least!

My guess... the other sites have different Artifacts, which we then bring to the first site to scan G19 and c38.
Most probably we will need to do the same on each of the sites.

No - open is showing more than it should. You can still get the scans elsewhere.

Michael

Michael if you didn't see it earlier, do you fancy having a look at this bug report and the one it links to, from a couple of months ago, to see if this was the precursor to what we're now experiencing now? I have a feeling that because the oddities I noted back then (I'm sure we spoke about it in this thread around the time) only happened in Open, then it's likely to be a similar things causing the issue now. May help you nail it down.

I was at the HIP 17403 site, two days ago. The UAs and UFs were still there. Other than a few more cannisters on the ground than I've seen before, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I had 32 Ruin scans on me at the time fwiw.

Was at HIP 17862 and HIP 17403 ~2 Days ago, not realy looked for anything else as UAs specificly but quite sure there wasnt something that didnt belong there, indeed catched up all the stuff at HIP 17403 (Fish, Gold, Coffee...)

Something I'd like to try but do not have the math (or even protractor etc) for (unless someones done it already) : Inscribe an eqilateral triangle in a circle, match the points where it touches the apex to the current ruins coords and apply the correct matix to transfom the othes in a similar way to points on a sphere - given planet rotation and theory these are comms hubs and it doen't make sense to have 1 per moon.
