Cmdrs who've handed their scans in and then picked up the mission again have said that the mission timer resets. (Could be a bug of course)
my comment was to the post above mine. about having dozens of sights to find.

This is truely fascinating data commander, as an engineer myself I have to admit I'm highly curious about the Guardians technology. It seems that the guardians had a particular fascination with geometric shapes, which they used to illustrate connections between themselves and the world around them. This predilection manifested itself in their technology as well - specifically their monolith network. With this data and the help of the galactic community we've partially mapped the monolith network, which formed the backbone of their communications technology, and discovered that they too are arranged in geometric patterns. Whilst this does not give us full access to the network, I believe it is the first step to unlocking the entire system and maybe more
Just scanned B1 with O+U - no result but reward went up by 1M so I guess it's correct but must already have the relevant data. I've not seen B1 on the pic or spreadsheet I'm looking at.
games done a CTD so going back in now. ( I was in Mobuis PVE ).
Just a supercruise trail over the horizon
I got to the antipodes, 31.7877, 51.0289. Nothing here so far, but, it does look similar to the area around the ruins so i'm gonna have a look around.
I don't believe that an alien ship, that advanced, has so flashy and noisy scanning apparatus. To me is clear that it is charging its biggest gun to perform a one-shot execute move on us, till the moment it sees/senses/discovers/realizes something, and decides to run away.
I don't know. But that sequence certainly doesn't look like a scan to me.
Hello everyone and forgive me for changing the subject but I want to make a remark on Alien Hyperdictions. On the first page, it is assumed that the alien ship scans us and then leaves, for some reason. My point of view is a bit different;

Is it a guardian ship right behind us? Have the leftovers of a UA/UP contact made them believe that we have some of their own kind on board?

I may join you there later this evening (US Eastern time). I'm curious about that myself. Two sets of eyes and all that. BTW, same commander name as here. If you see me, please don't shoot!

Haven't had the experience myself, but based on the dozens of youtube videos on it, it looks like a scan, albeit a very powerful one. Note that there's no damage to your ship, cargo is intact (at least as far as I've been lead to believe based on what I've read so far), and from what I've seen, it's just FD's way of announcing "They" have arrived. Also notice that there's a short time between the power coming back up and the time the alien ship leaves the area where you can sort of interact with it. You can either scan it or shoot at it. I believe it was mentioned that our early interactions with them would determine their future interactions with us. It's more an "experience" than an attack.
That is why I said that it charges for an attach, but before it is unleashed to us, it senses something that make it stop and leave. Anyway, I might be totally wrong on this but I dont think its a scan.
I'm also beginning to doubt that its just a scan. Whats irritating me are the "particles" that it seems to suck in from our ship.. That does not look like a normal scan to me..
Maybe its a giant space maiden, cleaning our ships![]()

Looking for mynocks, maybe? Damn things, always chewing on the power cables...
Then again, you might be on to something there. After all, don't sharks go to certain locations and have the little fish clean them off?
I know most of you are currently busy with the ruins and i don't wanna cause any panic.. but.. hyperdictions are getting serious!
The last reported ones are now only 163ly from Sol, that's right in our beloved bubble!!!
So, everyone who needs a rest from scanning obelisks, please try to gather more data from hyperdictions and report them to Volgrands sheet:
