One of the dev said that solo seesm to be the mode which is working correctly and that the entries you get from PG and Open should no be being given.

Thanks MB. While I'm sure that this answer probably isn't what some people wanted to hear, it's great to get a definitive answer so we can act appropriately.

I know there's been a bunch of commentary along the way, but I'm reading that definitely as:
- getting 13 pieces of scan data from Solo is working as expected
- Getting more than 13 pieces of scan data from Open/PG with multiple commanders is incorrect/B] behaviour, and should only be 13.
- Corollary: There's many more sites to find.

I know people have a tendency to want to assume every word out of anyone is a mystery wrapped in an enigma wrapped in bacon... but that's pretty obvious to me that that statement, combined with Ram Tah's mission statement saying "Please explore as many ancient sites as you can find" makes it pretty obvious there's more sites than this one.

If you compound the fact that based off the info MB has been provided so far that we get more info from open than we should, suggests (not proves) that we've gotten max utility from this site.

I have no opinion as to whether they're on this planet, in this system, or in different systems.

Thankyou Blip, one thing perplexes me about a new ruins site though. Wouldn't Ram Tah give us that info? "Hey, it seems the data cannot be completed at this site alone, there MUST be others"

What if Brooks was just trying not to give anything away, and he just meant that the way people are getting 36 in open is a bug because the obelisks are randomly triggering with the number of players, where as solo is still, correctly, waiting for the trigger... He can't really just say that open is bugged because "clearly no one has done this thing which is:"

*edit* post above remembers the actual mission statement which mentioned the word "sites"

Great. May want to add a spot for 2 commanders for each. This way we have overlap because after awhile it's all going to get boring and we may overlook something.

Yes that does seem quite conclusive on the subject of multiple sites.
Time to get my needle detector out and search that great big... o whatever, no matter how you use that saying it still sucks :)

So your starter for 10 points, I set of facing bearing 249 in my Anaconda that does 247 speed how long till I circumnavigate back to the start point of the Ruins ?

Well since in all these pages no one had flown in the obviously pointed direction of 250 straight off that target arrow thing. I'm off. Will post if I find anything but dirt.

We should take the layout of the Obelisks in account as well.
Why did FD change the layout while the patch?
There have been enough Obelisks already before the patch for 13, 36 and even 101 scans.

We have a surface area of 15819600000000 m2
We can only see objects at about 2000m dist.
Scanners wont pick up the site so its eyes only.
And the sounds it make cant be herd at 1k so far as i could tell.

This is going be so easy.

I dont think there are more ruins in the system. We should look elsewhere.

I hope I am wrong though and wish you good luck in your search.

Nope. Light is light and red light does not travel slower than any other sort of light.

I think you are probly correct that its not in this sytem.
I just wanted to pick the smallest search params and this planet is a little bit smaller than the galaxy :)
