Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

Why FD would make something ingame tied to a real life moment in time? Some people have jobs, families, child, etc and could possibly never attend to such event.

You are forgetting a half dozen open community events, that took place in precise times of the day: first that came to mind is the hunt for the first Ship Wrecks. But I can remember others.

However, this event, if true, is not related to OUR TIME/real life, it's related to THAT PLANET and it's period.

However, in this huge thread history, you cannot ever imagine how many PMs I've received, from people being completely sure to have found "a solution" to the many riddles. And those solutions were...well... just in their minds. But they were so sure, so sure...

I'm always open to give the benefit of the doubt to EVERYONE: but then, proofs are needed.
In this particular case, a date and time were provided, so we just need to wait and see. But I fear that "this event" could be special only in someone's mind/imagination...
soooo many times it happened.

Galactic News: Clandestine Federal-Imperial Negotiations?

Animosity between the Empire and the Federation has been growing for months, but leaked communications suggest that clandestine negotiations may be taking place between the two superpowers.

Jason Nygaard, a reporter for The Federal Times, said:

"We believe the Federation is meeting with Imperial dignities behind closed doors. The nature of these meetings isn't clear, but we have noted unusual ship movements around the historic Cambridge space port."

Cambridge, once of the few ancient Earth cities preserved in its historic form, is notably free from surveillance. It has been associated with many remarkable events in its long history.

How long you've been on this forums is not a reason to throw out someones work.

Case and point, I've been playing elite for years but never got interesting in the forum. I got involved with this ruins mission and within 4 days I've joined this forum and thread. Only days later myself and 5 other CMDRs had teamed up and tested all the 36 combinations for the obelisks. We then posted this on this forums and now most people are using our confirmed spreadsheet to get there data-points from the ruins.

Your rank on the forums has no reflection on you as a person, or your capabilities as a player. Labelling most/all people with a forum rank with mostly harmless and below as "baiting" or "griefers" is not only ignorant, its pretty insulting. Just allow people to post their theories and chose to follow it or not. You could have politely asked for evidence, but instead you tried to discredit the CMDR on the basis of his forum rank?!?!? can you not see how this might be taken the wrong way?

I didn't read it that way - IRL you allow people you know more slack, with strangers you want more proof of good intention. The poster gives little proof, is not explaining the science, and has little forum reputation (which for some reason ppl are focusing on), so needs to gain reputation. Interacting with the forums in the way they have is not playing nice. Anyway, back to science in Barnard's Loop :)

C'mon, man, move along. The other guy dind't want to tell us where he was, this one told us right away.

He probably hasn't shared anything because everyone went off the handle and called him a troll... If you ask me I don't blame him for not giving you anymore information on it [rolleyes]

If you are talking about "Imps", it was intentional :D

FD ACKNOWLEDGED WE ARE NOT THAT SMART TO FIND OTHER RUIN SITES :D

Let's do the CG then!

Earlier this month the engineer Ram Tah launched his research project to investigate the ancient ruins in the Synuefe XR-H d11-102 system. Since then hundreds of pilots have answered the call and begun to discover hidden data about the race that seemingly built the structures.

Now Ram Tah in association with United Meene Labour has issued an appeal for the following obelisk data types Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon from the site to aid him in locating other sites as part of an ongoing research project. The organisation has promised to reward pilots who deliver this data to Felice Dock in the Meene system.

When contacted Ram Tah released this statement:
“The information about the “Guardians” that has been discovered so far has been very exciting, but this is only the tip of the iceberg so to speak. All evidence points to the fact that this is not an isolated site, there are others out there and my research must now move to finding these locations.”
“With the help of other like minded pilots I hope to use the various data types to unlock the Guardian monolith network and use it to find other sites.”

The campaign begins on the 20th of January 3302 and will run for 2 weeks. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.
To be eligible for rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon Obelisk Data to Felice Dock in the Meene system.
Be aware that faction-state changes, UA bombing and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.

AND WE'LL HAVE ANOTHER SITE HANDED ON A TECHNETIUM PLATE...

There are two ways to react to someone calling you a troll.

xDeath choose to show proof.

I rest my case. :)

Perhaps if you give someone a chance to actually put together the proof they will post it, he posted 2 theories over the last week or so, no-one took any notice, he posted something more today, he gets instantly attacked and gives up on helping others. Don't blame him.

If anything those putting him down for trying to contribute are the trolls.

FD ACKNOWLEDGED WE ARE NOT THAT SMART TO FIND OTHER RUIN SITES :D

Let's do the CG then!

AND WE'LL HAVE ANOTHER SITE HANDED ON A PLATINUM PLATE...

I finish work in 1 hour and it takes 30mins to get home. Then I have to fly from the ruins to Felice Dock. This CG is going to be finished before I get there isn't it......

"“With the help of other like minded pilots I hope to use the various data types to unlock the Guardian monolith network and use it to find other sites.”"

So basically, once the new CG is completed we are likely to get the coordinates of at least one further if not all ancient sites? Either we are simply completely on the wrong
track and FD is helping us out finding the other sites with this CG goal or this was planned all along as the sites can't be found naturally unless by accident or bruteforcing?
I guess it's probably the first one. They noticed how we are struggling with finding other sites and do this CG so we can get coordinates of at least one other site after the CG
ended.

What would be even better would be for Ram Tah to tell us how to solve the puzzle, or at least give us a hint at the end of the CG.
