Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

Really? I have to disagree with you. He posted 2 theories, ok, but then he is like: " Ok guys I solved it! Thanks MB for the great puzzle, that 4 digit code something somethingsomething". That is typical " I know something that you don't, and I wont tell you what it is" behavior. If he really discovered something it would be like " Hi guys I found out that at xx:xx on Monday "something" happened at the ruin site, this gave me "that" information, then i followed it to system X and now i see a planet that looks like it could be their homeworld. Here are some screenshots: " or something like that. And yes, the fact that he is Mostly Harmless does mean something, You can't tell me that if you see rizal72 posting something without currently providing proof, and you see a random dude that has never posted in this thread post something like that, you would have equal base to believe them. Also he was given a chance to give us proof, and his proof was " It is in my previous post". So the proof of my theory is my theory?
I am following this in real time and I didn't want to post and to create more spam but here I am....

So Please until he has given us proof, or someone sees something on Monday, lets stop talking about this? It is toxic and is causing us to argue among each other. (And yes I am aware that with this post I am arguing as well)

So firstly you agree with slating and putting the guy down because he's trying to figure out the mystery? Ok.

He is as random as you, me and majority of others who post in this thread... he's posted a few times over the last week or so, but this thread is so massive posts often go unseen and users are acknowledged as much as more vocal posters are. Just because he's not as vocal in this thread does not make him any less capable than those that think they own this thread. This is an open thread that anyone can join in on, so why do people think they have the right to basically tell someone to '**** off'

As i stated in an earlier post, he was in the same instance as me last Monday night and tried explaining his theory to a few of us. Monday night is significant as it was the first sunrise since this mission was available from Ram Tah.

I agree going off topic is not good, but so is trolling an innocent guy trying to contribute.

lol, global progress on CG went from 190 tonnes a few minutes ago to 12,254... Still Tier 1 though!

I had a feeling FDEV would put another CG up after yesterday's ultra fast CG. Looks like this CG will give us an answer to the location of other ruins from what the description says.

Also there have been a couple of threads from people like myself who would quite like to be involved with the ruins mystery but felt cut out of it due to the nature of the puzzles. Both the Ram Tah mission and this community goal seem to be an attempt by Frontier to engage the wider player base.

Yeah, exactly, they've got a pretty diverse set of people to think about (in terms of how people interpret and play the game). Personally I'd like plenty of time to try and work the puzzle out, but they've got to think of everyone.

I'm lucky and working from home so I just jumped on my computer next to me and dumped my data into the CG, I'm in top 50% now with 161 tonnes collected - man that data is heavy!!!! seriously FDev ? can't you think of a unit of measure that's not tonnes?

Global progress is stlll only 12,254 tonnes. Tier 1 still not unlocked, not even half way by the looks of it.

I wonder if they fixed the scan farming bug ( ie get mission, do 13 scans, cash in 13M, redock, get mission ... )

NOTE: regetting dumping some much the data, now, but was annoying to keep running out of storage space for it.
On the other hand by FDev metric my ship is now 161tonnes lighter!!

Folks,

the new CG: is this different to delivering cultural/historical/biological/(etc) data?

Does it mean that we can't earn money from delivering said data and that that part has ended?

Not at my machine ATM so if anyone finds out, please let me know.

Ok Guys.

Some help here. I found something odd out in EAFOTS.

What I need to know is this:

In orbit around a NON landable Planet, do you stay in Geosynchronous Orbit out of SC? - or does it rotate beneath you?

Here is the link to the relevant topic:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/252932-So-you-want-to-know-about-the-Formidine-Rift-(Part-3)?p=5039882&viewfull=1#post5039882

I might add that someone apparently found a similar thing on an ammonia planet in the Merope bubble. Though it was presumed to be a glitch.

Gyp out.

I would be happy if anyone can upload this "singing near craters" (not the once from near obilisks) so we can maybe identify if that is a normal sound or not. Because people sometimes claim to hair strange sounds, when those are actually normal sounds.
Btw. large craters are extremely common, even in dish form. There is nothing special about the craters in that system except that some claim they "sing" although I haven't seen any video of that yet or haven't had time to check that myself.

Yea there are only a couple thousand different dish shaped craters in the local area. I dont think the person with this mad hatter level idea is giving us a reason to believe them.

If this person found anything and just now started to post things again, then it was done backwards. Busting the EULA data mining the locations and then making up a quasi theory of sorts to cover it up. That would be the only way you could be sure just by looking at the skybox.

Especially if you have no origin source for triangulation. So at best this seems like a thin cover up of something data mined or its unfounded boasting. It could also be both.

can you get a direct overhead shot. I know when flying around gas giants that sometimes the stars on the other side clip through. Just want to look at a 90 degree view.

So you had 161 TonnBytes? FD (tm) unit of data storage.

The person is presenting a theory as truth without providing evidence. Making a spurious claim and then referring to disjointed nonsensical data as proof doesn't mean he is contributing.

All this person has to do is say. I have this theory and here is my evidence and here is how I am testing it. Instead he said (I found it, See my evidence and how it does not support my claim, and I am not telling you.)

So a ruse to disguise getting the data in a untruthful manner.(data mining) Or a purposeful attempt at trolling this thread.

That is not helpful to any situation. Remember "The Boy who called Wolf" issue that caused the formadine rift mystery to shoot down the wrong rabbit hole for 3 months. It took a CG to get the story back out of the rough and onto the fairway.
