I believe Dr. Kai found some sort of pseudo life form around some fumarols a couple of days ago. A "piceous cobble"
Which may be some sort of pseudo vegitation or just some kind of mineral formation.
https://youtu.be/r7vRf7_owt8

These crystalline clusters may just be mineral formations as well.
When I logged back in after posting the video, the lighting changed and it's not quite so atmospheric now.
It's a very small "potato" moon. I'm flying around searching for additional locations now.
The scan of this moon shows "major silicate vapour geysers volcanism" so there may be other locations with geysers.

Update: Found an additional location A much larger field of geysers @ -35.4387 / -50.1005
Found the same crystal formations, but also a "piceous cobble"

More REP+++ for you!! (System wont let me give you anymore [uhh]).

That second field is brilliant [up]

I don't think they are life forms though, I think they are compounds (Oh, alright ! I shot one and it turned into Niobium)

If the Flower People start interdicting us out here..... blame me [big grin]

I'm a bit out of the loop with Geysers, I thought Crystalline life bearing ones are pretty rare. Either way, we need some POIs for the GMP, so I'll still add yours. [up]

You Killed It! :(
Yeah, they appear to just be mineral crystal formations from the geysers. I was a little too excited when I found them. [redface]
I was thinking about those tree like formations that frontier showed in the Guardians trailer.

I tried scooping up one of the crystal fragments also and it never appeared in my cargo. I wondered what happened to it.

Yes, you have to shoot at the crystals and they give then normal materials like Niobium, Sulphur, Iron etc... this material can be scooped then as normal (1 material = 3 pieces in storage).

edit: the crystals and bobbles give exact that material as it is shown on the planet material list.

I've yet to see any NPCs. Some have reported seeing system authority vessels but I haven't seen any reports of pirates.
I haven't bothered picking up any escape pods. Since we can't get back and we're going to self destruct anyway, it seemed pointless to rescue anyone.

So now im more or less on the move...
I missed the start but with a couple of hours I have filed an cut off all deadweight and taped on the rest with duck tape on a anaconda so now she do 55.8 ly, I have one thing more to change on the way so can maby get her up some more. Is it enough or should I dump the SRV?
Hope I get there before the fat lady sings

You would only see them if carrying cargo. I read somewhere it can happen up to 10k ly from Sol.

As for the self destruct, I know technically I cant rescue them, but there's always roleplay.

I suppose you can ask nicely for someone to go and get one of those new fangled interdiction thingies via suicide and a trip back, but your chances are slim :p

Seriously though, I've not seen any reports of interdictions at all up here. Just the occasional degraded signal source or ships on the ground at POI's. You should be safe.

But, the question is, why are you carrying 6 escape pods? Did you travel here with them or pick them up here? And what do you expect from them? If it's an RP thing, then fair enough :)

I found them among debris at a blue circle POI on a moon here today.

I found a burnt out SRV today....with half a dozen Domestic Appliance Canisters! (Damn Door to Door Salesmen are EVERYWHERE!!)

So I left him in his escape pod.... one less to annoy the bubble.

It's way over. If you can jump 54.8 on fumes you can make it.

Welp, I've made a huge mistake!

Yep, I was playing around in an ice ring, system NGC 2682 ZTP 827 to be exact, taking some pics, and when I pressed the D key to go back into my ship all I saw was a huge ice rock filling the entire canopy, and a split second later my shields collapsed, my hull was totalled, and the ship started yelling "EJECT! EJECT!" at me. Then poof!

This is the last pic I took before the collision:

And I managed to hit the F10 key once before the end:

Ah well. I've surveyed all of my systems so I've just been playing around anyway, collecting Arsenic and exploring planet surfaces. The view from up in this cluster really is amazing:

I think I'll head over to the ruins for a bit now, maybe do some engineer work too while they don't need commodities, and then fly back up to the cluster for the big suicide meetup!

I comend your commitment Commander Mengy. Get knocked down, but get right back up, and have another go!

I don't have any cargo racks on my ship and I've found 3 crash sites so far, all of them with pods. It saddens me that I can't collect them and bring them home, but at the same time we're going to be those wrecks here soon, too.
