So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Well... fdevs already hide shematics into a Unknown Probe sound... So why not into the witch-space sound!

In fact i done an analysis of the Thargoid Hyperdiction sound ... Just to be sure lol

I guess it depends on what you're trying to solve - DBOBE's Thargoids have always needed tools to decode, but Drew stated that the Rift mystery didn't need them.

Oh, sry. I missed this.
But what about the code given by the probe here in the rift, confux and gap?
Personnaly, i need tool to decode it.
Did i miss something?

This may have already been pursued but, after watching Obsidian Ant's video that Drew posted above, I'm wondering if we've been going about the search all wrong. Not the search for the surface settlements. The main search.

I can see the value in checking the audio, but I wanted to opine on the "main search". We are a few kly widdershins of where the Formidine Rift was speculated, but the settlement messages, the Cobra messages, have focused this area into view. The RR line was to get us out here (and present a neat guide for the neutron star highway), but it doesn't point "here". I have been wondering, given the ascension of the EAFOTS settlement systems, if we've been looking out from this area (rimward) when we should have been looking "up" (+y). The space above GL-Y E2 grows sparse quickly, below is relatively populated by a mix of star types. I've crossed the gap heading out from GL-Y E2 into Myoidee and looked around a bit with no hyperantics or shennanidictions. Heck, I followed the wild geese to the edge of the Galaxy in AICONN and back to EAFOTS, with nothing out of the ordinary but a chewed-up paintjob.

Up, I think, from GL-Y might be something different. Only speculation, but after we find the GL-Y E2 6 settlement I am heading that way.

Okay, bear in mind that this is just my interpretation - other people may disagree...

There are two threads to the Rift mystery -
There's the 'old' thread, which encapsulates Reclamation, the Kahina trip to Sol system and her subsequent disappearance, and all the mythological references contained therein.
And then there's the new thread, which is the Salome as leader of CoR, Rift/Conflux/Hawkings stuff that FDev has released recently, and which seems to tie in more closely with the UA/UP/Hyperdiction elements.

The stuff you guys are chasing around is the new thread - for which there may be stuff which requires 3rd party tools.
Personally, I don't think that anything found at these bases is going to tell us anything about the 'old' Rift mystery - rather it adds another layer of story on about the Exodus project, which was (at least in part) investigating the Rift. That is, you're looking that the story of Rift EXPLORERS, not the Rift mystery itself.

Feel free to disagree - I've been as wrong as anyone else with everything I've theorized about the Rift so far :D

Probe message decoded, and I think it's on the Canonn thread's FP.

The message is decoded with key DYNASTY

I tend to agree. Drew said somewhere that, while the Formidine Rift mystery has been solvable since day one, stuff has been added. That means that the core of the mystery can still be solved without using any out-of-game tools and whatnot. No guarantee now that the additional content won't require Horizons (the surface settlements for example) or the use of out-of-game tools.

Additionally ... just because we might use an audio tool to isolate an audible hint that doesn't necessitate that such a tool would necessarily be required. Someone with a really good ear could isolate the audio by just listening (and therefore lending credence to the 'depends on who goes looking' clue.)

The more I re-read the "lore" storys and the message log here in rift, the more I go in the same way as you.
After all we'r not at all on the RR line here...

I've been flying around looking for something for almost a year now but I haven't taken a lot of time to listen.

From the Formidine Rift Alpha site: "Could have I heard some weird voices in the last jump".

In spite of all the issues, bugs, "lack of content", etc. that Elite: Dangerous has been accused of the one thing that has almost universally applauded has been this game's audio. Could there actually be something hidden in the audio track of hyperspace sequence? My ears are damaged from decades of mistreatment from loud music and machinery so it all sounds the same to me but could I be missing something that others can hear?

There's something along those lines that troubles me about the FRift base logs - specifically the ones that talk about stars thinning out and jumps getting harder, the dimming galaxy just hanging there, three months until we turn around etc. If you look at the density of the stars around the communications beacon systems, they aren't actually *in* the rift. They are actually right smack on the edge of the dark zone. The stars thin out immediately after beacon systems but there's no problem at all in actually getting to them.

I suspect that the FRift bases are just a stepping stone on the journey - communications relays and logistical support. The logs we have retrieved from the communications uplinks may have been transmitted from ships actually travelling into the dark zone, perhaps even relayed to the ground stations by the unregistered communications beacons in space. If this is the case what we are looking for probably still lies on the other side.

Sidenote: This confirms our suspicions within CoR, that the "food" sites are always found on the sunny side of planets that are tidally locked to a star. Never with the star too high in the sky, never too low.

Huh.... odd point, the first expedition log says they're halfway to the core... but that's not the direction of Hawkins Gap, right? That's Conflux, isn't it?

Yes. Very odd. If you leave the Orion Spur and travel toward Hawking's Gap you'll travel parallel to the Core not towards it.

Good job! Now if you could please find the last one I'll be able to go home :D
