That was me. On heading 250 degrees off the "arrow". Moon rises just about dead on balls
I think the community goal means that this puzzle require the other sites to be found to be solved. It be nice to find them before the end of the community goal and frontier give us the answer.
It clear frontier want this solve on schedule, wonder why![]()
So I just got the Elite Newsletter, and saw the section on "RAM TAH APPEALS FOR ANCIENT DATA" that reads (emphasis mine):
Ram Tah in association with United Meene Labour has issued an appeal for the following obelisk data types Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon from the site to aid him in locating other sites as part of an ongoing research project. The organisation has promised to reward pilots who deliver this data to Felice Dock in the Meene system.
So if this is accurate, we do NOT need to find other sites YET. With the note from Michael that open is showing more than it should, it looks like we are just having problems figuring out how to get more obelisks to activate and be scannable. A specific order, perhaps?
I don't understand why people jump in to say they have a breakthrough before they're ready or able to share it. Are you just very excited?
GUYS!
If this hasn't been thought of before, I could use some help - I heard when you want to go to the "opposite" side of the planet, you just add 180 to the co-ords - I'm not sure though, but please can someone help me with working out the co-ords for the picture I did below?
I've just tried to use notepad and a calculator to do it, but I don't think I'm doing it right:
-31.7877 -128.9711 (ruins we know of)
148.2123(+) 51.0289(+) (2nd ruins)
148.2123(+) -51.0289(-) (3rd ruins)
EDIT: Longitude won't go past 91.1xxx'ish... :/

My geometry is extremely rusty but you have a sphere with a triangle drawn inside it. There is nothing to tie that triangle in any single orientation. Hence the triangle can rotate about the vetex you have at the ruins location. Ther fore the other two vertices will describe circles on the surface of the sphere. iAssume since the triangle is equilateral that the two circles will coincide, but it doesn't help you much.
I know I'm about 30 pages behind at the moment, but what is going on?
Sorry you guys I dont know how to edit my post. But I found this on google http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/...ers-inch-closer-to-solving-games-big-mystery/
Has anyone been to Merope 5C recently? I've only got interested in this alien mystery when I heard 100 mil could be made. So I dont know if Merope has been checked.
If I understand the series of events correctly, the planet was located due to footage shown from the trailer? I can't find any information as to what logical series of events in game would have lead to the discovery of the ruins. Other than the CG currently running I feel like the missing piece is how via the game itself we would have been able to locate the ruins on the planet.
If I accidently hand in the ancient ruins mission (went to Ram Tah's station to do the CG and accidently clicked on the mission instead of the CG), is there any way to get it back and do it again? I only had 1 complete (1mil).
Okay...
I think I might have something this time.
I posted this yesterday;
However, after we had no luck in searching, I decided to do a bit of research on something called "Spherical Trigonometry" (source).
While not understanding it myself, I decided to try and work out how many triangles it would take to make a sphere out of triangles.
So I came up with this:

And I think it has something to do with this:

I cannot find the link to the person who recorded all of the triangle lights on these pillars - but they are all the same on all the pillars and sequence the same - which may means these are linked to ruins on the planet!
Has anyone got that link!? Know what I'm on about?? Can't find it on the main OP (probably taken down because no one could work it out). Would appreciate it if someone could post it here!
I am a bit puzzled about this. Fairly new to the game itself so I really don't have another event to compare with.
I've managed to get the 13 decoded entries in solo, and as Michael Brookes said solo is working as intended and that open/PG is showing more active obelisk than it should.
Is this a confirmation you're only supposed to get 13 correct scans at this location? And that the bonus scan's you get in open/PG should really be someplace else?
Why I am asking is because I really can't do test's in solo to activate more obelisks as I always get disconnected having everything reset.
Seems to be disconnecting when I scan the active obelisks, roughly 6 scans and imminent disconnect.
Sorry if already asked and answered somewhere.
