Re Latitude & Longitude, I can never remember which is which

I had to Google it (Wiki),
Latitude = lines parallel to the equator, the equator being 0°, the poles being 90°
Longitude = lines going from pole to pole,
The longitude of other places is measured as the angle east or west from the Prime Meridian[I/] (Greenwich,UK for Earth), ranging from 0° at the Prime Meridian to +180° eastward and −180° westward

What I don't get is how the prime meridian is chosen for other planets, but regardless, does the surface map show it? Or do we just find it flying around in SC?
