Currently here with srv, scanner is sounding weird but no lines. I think i can hear something that almost sounds like music.
landed cause i saw poi. nothing found yet that would warrant a poi

Does anyone know if it's possible to easily search EDSM by coordinates? As a few people have pointed out, 3 of the systems are in a very-nearly equilateral triangle:

https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/...,+-38.53125}+{546.90625,+-56.46875,+-97.8125}

...with a midpoint at (553.781, -64.625, -58.0938). Probably nothing, but wondering...

Edit: IC 2391 Sector AV-Y c16 is pretty close. Nothing interesting on the system map

Their API has a search by sphere or search by cube. Not sure of the specifics but possibly using the coords of a system and specifying the range you'll get a list. Probably not too easy to triangulate that.

found a dead srv, way out from where poi was. Scanner no longer making noise, turned around and breifly heard noise again. Side question, is there normally piano music while driving on planet surface? i ask cause i normally run my own music in background. Moving back to landing site, picked up something else on scanner. Music lasted maybe 30 to 50 seconds

Update. Found dead federation ship with 2 dead srvs and a bunch of dead skimmers. Think this is the poi i landed for. No idea what the hull is only 2 pieces with not enough features.

Yes there is, the planetary music is amazing. I would suggest exercising caution to identify by music, especially if you don't normally have it on, because the music varied and mixes in different ways. Not that I'm saying the current ruins aren't different to the normal music.

Just saw the news. Grrr!!! Why oh why do I have to be busy right now!? As soon as I'm free I'll throw my Python into the search. I can't check the Galmap right now, but which is the closest to the known ruins site? That's where I left off yesterday.

Considering that the srv can detect the relic sites with a distinct sound Why not make a concentrated and directed method instead of going out there and scanning whatever looks fancy?Check how far out you can distinctly make out the ruins on the srv scanner divide up every landable body into zones with that or a bit smaller range, make a spreadsheet of the coordinates. fly to place land, srv, turn around if you get the distinct sound check it out and report the place otherwise go on the next one in a line. since I doubt we got some sort of new scanner to play with and the planets seem to be in the dark and from my experience with the first site they always be dark, at least I never seen the ruins in daylight we need a better than eyeball it aproach for this. in my opinion. Feel free to berate me on the matter if you disagree.

okay, im finding lots of dead ships and srvs right now. Like abnormal amounts. Also, the music has yet to play and i have yet to hear the same screech from my scanner.

Turn off all external music.

Turn in game music (master) to 0 volume.

The ruins (site 1) makes sounds that are NOT from the games main score.

Could be worth a try. Need someone at the ruins to test this and record the sound though as I never bothered to use the wavescanner at the ruins, so wouldn't know what to listen for.
