Im thinking that if these ruins belong to an Ancient Data communication network... and we have 4 new systems to search, We had 4 Becons at the already know Ruin site. Maybe the Becons connect via an FTL network... So activating them at the known site has activated their corresponding Becons at these new locations.

So look for a blue light when searching.

Never seen this before in game but I have had multiple POI's within a short space of time.... all wrecks with small data caches...... but the bit I've never seen is them falling to the planet surface..... makes logical sense and probably nothing
Forgot to mention. The pois have been 100kmish from planet surfaces.

You;re the second cmdr to say they're falling, (first about 5 posts above yours)

Tried to find some connection between the Ruins and the sky. Didn't work. All the new systems are visible at once from the ruin site, so its safe to conclude it might be a star map of some kind. But retro-fitting a solution is going to take more than a few hours with Photoshop I'm afraid. Didn't get this into it, but if there's a common number between the obelisk geometries and system bodies, might offer a clue.

I do not understand why the beacon 1 was the first issue? (who is assigned the number 1 ???)
if the data is not initially true, all the following items the development of the theory is wrong!!!

Hi guys - if you are exploring, using both visual & audio - or if you are curious how the audio comes in to play when getting close to the ruins, I've made a quick training video.
It should show you how you can hear it over engines, F/A Off/On as well as distance.

There are a few tricks to assist your audio detection rate:
- If you can change "Windows Sounds, Playback-devices" the you device and the tab for "Advanced". Select 24Bit 48000HZ or better. I use this selection myself.
- In Elite, Audio options: Select "Night Time" mode. And you can safely disable music. (Screenshot provided at the end of the video).
- Fly as silent as you possibly can. F/A Off will turn off the engines. Periodical turn F/A on if you need to adjust your course.
In night-time mode the sound-engine in ED will amplify others sounds, but this means you should have as silent engines as possible.

NOTE from the field:
- If you fly at 5-6km altitude, it will be much harder to hear the sounds.
I recommend max 1km if you explore by sound.
The loss of sound-cues is higher per altitude-meter, compared to distance on the ground.

Great video! there was a suggestion earlier in the thread that there was a link between having relics/artifacts from the ruins in cargo and hearing sounds. Any connection there in your opinion?

Arrived at home. Is there anywhere in particular that needs more eyeball mk.I scans?

All planets with retrograde rotation equal to the orbital period are good candidates. Those with a short period are better. If it has a moon as well, it's even better.

I would skip all tidally locked, but thats just my opinion.

I need to revisit to prove or disprove it with a video.
But early on when I visited it for the first days (v2 ruins) and no artifacts/relics, I'm fairly confident that I had the same experience.
With the right settings, the ambient sounds are loud with this one.

Keep in mind, with the v1-ruins they where visible from further away, so visual clues was the most important ones.
v2-ruins changed that.

What about the chemical make up of the world?
maybe these bases where mining?

Agreed. we need more guidance to find that places. I just catch some interesting looking of IC 2391 Sector GW-V b2-4:

Thought I'd go looking, is it better to SRV or to fly low over the planet ?

Depends on your luck with the wave scanner and your patience. I personally prefer flying, since you cover more ground that way. I'm kicking myself for not bringing my Imperial Courier out here, though.
