Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I'm going to head to one of the marked systems in a little bit and I would really like a progress report so I know where to look and not.

I'll be back on soon to continue my search on 11 B!

And for those just reading these forums and haven't yet done so today:

It's all here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ThjsXsz1N7R-JtSJsXl8w9ir8CrHui7ifHIXKwTCqfI/edit#gid=0

Okay - the Ancient Ruins are built on a planet that spins ANTI-CLOCKWISE - I'm of the personal assumption that this is important to the Guardians on location picks, and their home world may spin anti-clockwise.

After narrowing down the results in all systems, out of ALL the planets combined in ALL FOUR systems, ONLY FOUR planets have an Anti-Clockwise spin!

Further narrowing down these results, I have only picked the BEST TWO results, below:

Systems and planets matching Ancient Ruins criteria:

Synuefe XO-P C22-17 D 1

Synuefe ZL-J D10-119 11 B

The following did not make the cut:

Synuefe XO-P C22-17 AB 1 -
planet radius too large, too hot, is a High Metal content planet (not rocky), higher gravity, a lot denser.

Synuefe XO-P C22-17 AB 3
- like AB 1, very similar in all aspects - not at all similar to Synuefe Ancient Ruins.

Based on the evidence, I think Synuefe XO-P C22-17 D 1 and Synuefe ZL-J D10-119 11 B are THE BEST two candidates to search for ruins!

So here's a random wacky idea since at this point we're clutching at straws, and all were getting is poop.

So the beacons line up perfectly when overlaid with the galmap for each system right? What if we took the relic from the corresponding beacon and took it to that system?
I know this has been tried with other artifacts, expecting something to happen or sounds from the artifact.

Part of me expects some beam of light to shoot out and point directly to the next ruin site. The rest of me is more realistic and expects sweet FA.

You never know.

Or maybe having it in the your cargo hold will act as a homing beacon, sounding off when you have your nose pointed towards the location of the ruins?

I think there is a "bug"/bad design to game.
The Discovery scanner should show "anomaly detected" then help you zero in on sound/signals.
Its absolutely ridiculous that in the 34th century you have to eyeball a small feature on a huge planet.
As I said the Game Spore had a better scanner - and that was 4 kids

Good luck with the search grinders - I'm out.

It IS like the raiders of the lost arc then?

I posted a video of that earlier.

"They're digging in the wrong place!"
(That's us). Lol

This is what I need...

In response to all the people who are saying to search synuefe xo-p yadayada d1,

I've been there since we were told the four systems and I can say with about 66.6% confidence that all there is to find is creepy sounds, module malfunctions, equipment failure and me in my aspx uncontrollably bouncing more than flying along the surface while surprisingly taking no shield or hull damage.

But still, search away and don't let me stop ya o7

I had this in my mind as well. If those relics in the beacons do indeed correspond each to a different ancient site, maybe jettison it and it will orient itself in the direction of the site or something? I haven't tried it myself yet, too lazy flying back to the alpha ruins site :)

Hell...give us a spotting scope from the 17th century...

One good thing !

There seems to be no pirates out here telling me "Ah the rumors were true, all that tasty cargo...."

Any chance someone could come check out D101C 3 87.5072/89.9779?

I just had something extraordinarly weird happen, a really loud banging noise then a screech that made me rip my headset off (I don't do well with jumpscares, and this was one) then a crescendo of music that I could hear through the headset sat on my desk. All the while I'm sat looking at this bit of terrain that appears to be stitched in, runs nearly North to South. I dropped into this area because I spotted a crater-within-a-crater that clutching-at-straws very vaguely resembled something from the known ruin site.

I've managed to get this on stream (streaming to twitch just in case I happened to stumble across something interesting) so I have video of it. Either IRL computer ghosts or ED suddenly decided to join in the survival horror genre.

*edit - a relog has fixed the terrain.

I'm at those coördinates and I can't find anything. It's dark here right now so I might hang around to wait for dawn.
