Yes. English is a fluid language, meaning is often implied rather than explicit.
IIRC there is no word for 'toilet' that is not a euphemism (this may be a QI factoid)
CENTER makes most sense, because it's pronounced CEN-TER. CENTRE is stupid, because you don't say CEN-TRE.
The U in COLOUR is completely unnecessary.

Chrome doesn't save the language setting I have discovered. There are 2 options - English (United States) and English. If you change the language to English, exit save and restart, the setting is back to English (United States) again. I had to turn off the "Use this language for spell checking" option. But of course now I have NO spell checking - but that's OK because I am quite capable of checking my own spelling.

When I first saw a mission for "Snaking" I assumed it was an FD pun on their snake based ship names.
The U in colour IS necessary. You should pronounce it like colon if it is spelt color. What about tire? That's something that happens to me - not something I put on the car. I put tyres on my car.

You should be able to change the order, so English is first. Also, you can add languages to the list. English NZ should be one of those you can add. It can't be used for spell checking though, so I don't know what advantage it adds. Maybe macrons for Māori placenames.
I know you weren't referring to me, but I'd just like to add that, for me, it's just a bit of wry humour really - not too serious a problem at all. But I do enjoy having a bit of fun at my american friends expense. Shall we start on the order of a date now? Or perhaps paper sizes? or maybe such things as "World baseball championship" and "World wrestling championship" and so on which are only "world" in America?

Well done sir! I didn't realise that it was necessary to move it up to the top - or even that that was possible. Not very intuitive UI design there Mr Google. Indeed, that solved it. Of course this language is not able to be used for spell-checking but that's OK. Don't really need it in a forum anyway.
The U is completely unnecessary. It's pronounced CO-LOR.
Also the word "Lorry" sounds silly like a toy. Truck is much better.

Well, let's change the o to a u then. Spell it culor. Except that you would have to add an extra "l" because otherwise it would be pronounced cuelor. Or perhaps it should be calor - except americans can't pronounce "a" correctly so we'll have to adjust it further and make it carlor. But I wonder if the r would get "rolled" - so maybe that isn't such a good idea after all. Tell you what, how about we solve the problem of how to pronounce the first "o" by putting the u back in where it should be and make it colour - that'll fix it.

How do you pronouce "Stephen"?
Some Americans pronounce "color" as "colur" or in between o and u. British say "colah"
British often forget to pronounce the R at the end of hundreds of words. It's due to the British accent, just saying.
car = Cah
Star = stah
Far = fah
lol. That's like butchering your own language.
