This is happening to thousands of commanders, the reviews wont be good, frontier are good at trolling the community with needles in galactic haystacks. One would be thinking they would be trying to get balance and sell more copies of horizons not discourage sales. Lets hope 2.3 gives us more procedural content to play with
Yeah I know it.
To be honest they may have well not told us what systems they were in. The likelyhood is just as high for joe schmoe to have stumbled upon it by accident without knowing the system names. Many millions upon millions of sqkm to search. Most people cant zoom into their house from google earth and we have many magnitudes more land mass to search. More than likely what will happen is someone will datamine the system data and find out what planet they are on. That will be the most likely scenario at this point.
I am really starting to not care any longer and I cant see having billions of systems and calling content. Sure you can play with every grain of sand on Miami beach, but is that their idea of fun?
We have such an awesome core game with huge potential but we really need direct interactivity with the environment.
We need to be able to push buttons, run in game computers, pressure pads to park the SRV on. Pick up objects in the environment and do more than store, sell, or shoot them. That alone would open up the game so much. Missions given by the engineers for ranking. Missions given by the Fed, Imp, Alliance, or Ind Navy for rank.
Maybe add interiors for the SRV to run around in. Perhaps the star ports. Maybe land based installation and Alien ruins. Large halls and rooms that an SRV can move around in.
Tons of stuff can be done to make it fun. I just hope they can add some of it soon.
