Also, the lighter gases rise higher in the atmosphere and thus are stripped from the atmosphere by two factors - being blown away, and the high temperature resulting in high thermal velocities and thus a higher proportion randomly exceeding escape velocity.

All sums up in an atmosphere of heavier gases and thus a much denser atmosphere.

Yup...same reason we're skint of unbound hydrogen here.

I could write a research paper on this stuff. Maybe I should've gone to grad school after all...

It's never too late mate! Better to do it when you've got a genuine interest and really want to do it, then just do it when it's just kinda the thing to do! (So long as your lifestyle etc. permits, obvs!)

I found a Data Point on IC 2391 SECTOR ZE-A D101 B 5. Location is at 10.5404, 18.8472

Just a normal POI? I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. POIs like that are randomly generated all over the place. Found a crashed nav beacon 5.3 km from the alpha ruins site that was never there before. It won't be there when I log in next time. POIs simply aren't significant with regards to the ruins. The first POI I found on the first planet I searched was nothing more than an outcrop which gave me some sulfur and manganese.

Yes you can have an atmosphere but unless the organism thrives on radiation only, then you would really want that magnetosphere. I am willing to be simple cell organism could live on a planet without radioactive shielding. But who knows maybe they are always red because they dont make SPF 1000.

I knew humans had a leg up. We have superior sun cream protection technology.

Has anyone attempted to take a relic to it's corresponding system and experiment yet?

Once the relics are in your cargo you can't really differ between them anymore. But I took all 4 relics from the ruins into one system and one planet in particular and jettisoned all relics.
I tried honking them but nothing, they also didn't point anywhere in particular.

Exactly this. It's just a normal POI which are generated everywhere. Of course you can go ahead and scan it but you probably won't get more than a data package which you can sell in the bubble.

There could be microbial life on every body in the Solar System and we'd never know because we simply don't have enough data to say otherwise. This search for ruins is actually somewhat analogous to the search for life on other planets in our own system. We can search a thousand points on the surface of a planet and miss pockets of microbial life all 1000 times. It all comes down to educated guesses and dumb luck.

The only difference is we don't have to spend billions of credits per attempt.

I have found 5 data points. Countless escape pods 3 or 4 ships of human make, Several SRVs and one creepy system defense force dude sitting in a vulture babysitting a wrecked ship.

So far nothing fruitful out of any human contact/material. Only thing cool I found was fungus growing on an Iron fumerole.

At this point I am pretty sure I have landed on every landable planet in Synuefe ZL-J d10-119 twice. First was to look around and second was to listen for any audio clues. No audio clues at all. So the sounds the Ruins make must be point blank range. So pretty much useless to us.

Sat at 100ls from the start and picked up some USSs. They were both data caches.
Went out to 500ls and only found 1 data cache. Nothing else.
Went out 5000 and then 10000 ly out and did not get any USSs

Positioned self over each planet and sun and targeted each planet from SC to listen for audio change. Nothing came of that.

Fell asleep in my SRV woke up doing some wicked flips.

Thought I saw the Animatronic bunny from 5 Nights at Freddie's give me the finger and disappeared behind a rock.

I have no idea how to do this I think this now 12 hours doing this. both 6 hour sessions. Cant do it much longer. No more tools to science with.

If we will know the ratio of r1 and r2, we can understand the right mix of this map. Is it sun\planet or planet\moon.

R1/R2~7/4

I think this is star/star or planet/planet

I made hi resolution map:

This is happening to thousands of commanders, the reviews wont be good, frontier are good at trolling the community with needles in galactic haystacks. One would be thinking they would be trying to get balance and sell more copies of horizons not discourage sales. Lets hope 2.3 gives us more procedural content to play with
