[VIDEO] New Meta? Hybrid Clipper Brings the Dank in PvP

Nice vid, but not really a new meta... the FdL commander didn't use (or didn't use it much; didn't watch the whole vid) chaff to exploit the Clippers only real weakness. A Clipper is a very serious threat for any FdL without chaff... Against a dual chaff FdL it's a different matter, though, unfortunately.
It's totally cool for two less capable CMDRs to have at it and post the results
Would certainly drop the "new meta" tag off the back of that though...

I've beaten several dual chaff FDL's. There are ways to make chaff less of a hindrance to a Clipper.

4 pips to SYS and mods on my shield and boosters maximize damage mitigation. Basically, although my shields don't have super strong overall MJ's, they are extremely resistant (especially with 4 pips to SYS), and when I'm not taking fire they regenerate faster than 1% per second. That's why it seems like he's doing almost no damage.
Those would probably be the more impressive videos to post, then.
I usually don't post fights between our own members. When we don't have Feds or terrorists to shoot at, the 13th Legion is notorious for fighting each other for the practice.

I'll let you in on a little secret: my tongue was firmly lodged in my cheek for that comment.
Why? Because I appreciate the sentiment, but for a "new meta" proclamation there was nothing exceptional there. Will always support PvP engagements being posted by anyone, but if you're going to lay down visions of grandeur, deliver.
That said, I am always up for a 1-v-1. By all means add me in game and challenge me at any time that suits you. I always have weird builds to be testing.
We'll see if the 'new meta' claim holds true. This build has beaten some of the best modded FDL's in the game though, so don't discount it so quickly.
Would pay good credits to see that happen, but all the iClipper really has over the FDL is hull tanking and rammability. Now the hull tanking is being cared for it certainly shapes up better, and I've revived my one, but I just don't see what puts it in meta position over FDL.
Seriously though, add CMDR StiTch! if it pleases you. Always up for a duel.
Did you watch the video? Did you see how long it took him to get my shields down, and then how quickly they came back up? I lost only 8% hull in between first shield drop and shield reforming. There's much more advantage in the Clipper than just hull tanking and ramming now.
Can its suddenly gargantuan shields be explained from a stat perspective?
This is one of the problems for 2.1 You have no idea what your opponent has going. That FDL could have been rocking G5 OC weapons or low level trash ejectors.
Don't get me wrong, all for the iClipper. As I said, just revived mine, AND to boot gave it a build with more care put into shields. But I know that I am using alternative techniques, not "meta" material.
