Space Pirate Captain Harlock 2013

I used to watch the animated series back in the 80th, but the new ones are pretty good too.

A lot of posters talk about the sci-fi books... I was into these heavy in my early teens and read most of the classics. I was a member of a sci-fi book of the month club. But then it seemed like all the new stuff was looking into the phycology of the characters and I lost interest. I could care less that someone was molested as a child or what have you, I just wanted Star Wars, Captain Kirk, Buck Rodgers. Hero's and all the adventure was what I wanted not Dr. Freud and friends!

Starblazer comics were also a staple of my youth. This was my fav story

Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke and one or two others. Blade Runner a major influence and the book it was based on. Oh and 2001 of course. And Dune ...

Picard was my dad growing up. Galaxy class is still my dream ship.
My favorite characters from Dune are Darwi Odrade and Miles Teg (quickest way I can say how Dune influenced me).
Trimaxian drone ship from flight of the navigator got me thinking about liquid metal and nanotechnology long before T2. Second favorite ship.
Star Destroyers were and are still my favorite part of Star Wars. Big scary wedge. What an awesome idea. SSD is my third favorite ship.
40k has helped me appreciate how sweet my life is with my safe job and warm bed. Nothing like a good space marine stomp. Limbs everywhere.
