Hey guys, a question for you. Are there any tools out there reading planetary coords in real time from the game? Either by screen scraping or preferably from a log somewhere? I was thinking of throwing together a little aid tool, probably wouldn't be done in time to help find the ruins but might be there the next time we need to brute force a planet.

Admire the thought but dont do Frontier's work for them

I though all the data combinations were known at the ruins?

E33 is active for me, yet it is not listed on the remlock website http://remlok-industries.fr/1242/the-guardians-collect-the-ancient-sites-data/?lang=en

Edit: scanning it with 2 casket generated a failure message, and then the stone went dormant.

As we know, open/private shows more than it should. There are also more obelisks which activate than combinations we found. Same as in solo where there are 15 active obelisks but only 13 scans. E33 or H33, whatever letter you use for that group has no valid combination it seems. If you find one then of course you should report it. All known combinations are here: https://imgur.com/a/RVZBN#6XexGII

NO, NO, NO, NO

Because it's not allowed! Memory scraping is strictly against the rules. It has been since 2014! End of.

Cmdr log is something someone could try to work with, but I doubt it's been in long enough for someone to have a solution.

Do we know if its still possible to hand in data and still get the mission back?
My timer is running down and I'm thinking I'm going to need to re-start the clock.

Done by piranha9 for Merope 5C search. This could be useful if modified, but I think the author hasn't been around for a while.

The journal has a landing event, it´s storing coordinates. Maybe not the thing you are searching for, but at least something you can build on. And it´s legal :)

I like it. We'd have to leapfrog across the planet to see the data but I can make a proof of concept and see if it's worth expanding on. Thanks iFred, thanks everyone who responded.

Also, I didn't mention memory scraping, jwhich would most certainly get me banned, ust screen scraping i.e. OCR to get the coords, which would not work well at all given the moving background but it's the only place I know with certainty we can read the current coords.

Anyway, I'll plug away at it and post again if it comes to something. In the mean time, good hunting.

Request for Confirmation

Went back to the ruins this afternoon (19:50 GMT) and, on approach, got a POI centered roughly on the site. I've been all 'round the area and there's nothing there (that I can find) other than the ruins. Been here too many times to count and never had that before.

Can anyone else confirm the same behaviour?

I know you didn't specifically, but knowing what people in this thread can get like when they get hold of an idea... I just wanted to be clear :D

If you can think of something workable, then great job.

Log out and back in again and see if you get the same result. If you do it would give a lot of people a little more hope

My 2 cents. 2D maps.

While playing around the numbers(site coordinates, planet and moon axial tilts and orbital inclinations), I noticed the following(could be coincidence though):
Code:
(-128.9711°)-(-31.7877°)=-97.1834°
[longitude]-[latitude]
is very close to
Code:
(5.21°)+(-6.8°)+(-94.91°)+(-0.43°)+(-0.11°)=-97.04°
[moon-tilt]+[moon-inclination]+[planet-tilt]+[planet-inclination]+[star-inclination]
Star inclination referring to the orbital inclination of the class Y brown dwarf that is Synuefe xr-h d11-102 1.

The question is: coincience or deliberate? [total difference is 0.18°, but split amongst both latitude and longitude it can be halved to 0.09°]

If my hypothesis[that the difference between longitude and latitude is the sum of the tilts and inclination of the moon of the ruin-planet and its parent bodies] is correct, we would have a correlation between latitude and longitude.
