"There's an Earth-like world here" Seems a bit odd to me - why not say "in a nearby system" or "nearby". "Here" to me implies the same system but surely it's not there and our scanners aren't picking it up? Surely...?

Not in the same way. There were emergency lights on at the other 3 facilities but not at delta.

Hip 6421 doesn't seem right... I just checked on the galaxy map, and it's well below the Bubble with no government, economy or population.
Went out to +y 682, EAFOTS BA-Y D#-#, and got some degraded USS, but nothing of interest around WWs. No ELW the path I took. Heading out into MYOIDEE high above the plane now.

Drew said in the live stream we where thinking about the Gates in modern day terms. He went on to say obviously a camp wouldnt need a gate if there where no walls. He was then asked why there where tire tracks that all seemed to congregate to one side of the gates and all he would say is "thats a good observation".

I've been asking that question since Day 1
It would make some sort of sense if they WHERE portals. If someone learned how to unlock the system it would make sense that the sites would be located near the exit portals. But the writting on the gates makes them seem man built... It doesnt make a lot of sense for them to be portals?

The second you said that, i felt deflated because that makes perfect sense. He did seem tight lipped about it though, they both laughed, and quickly moved on. I wish i could post a clip, but it genuinely seemed like something more... He genuinely seemed like he didnt want to give it away. Your theory makes perfect sense so I'm not saying your wrong, it just doesnt seem like something that would be kept quiet in such an obvious manner.

There's supposedly something in the Prism Herald about Salome finding Dynasty and knowing of a connection between the Rift, Conflux, the Gap and the hypderdictions (no surprise on that one). I'm about 10 minutes away and will report back with screenshots.

I think the gates are just that.
If you build an outpost down on a barren planet, and everyone had access to a fleet or SRV's, they would be driving between all the buildings, potentially running over equipment.
The gate give an exit and entry point, keeping the disruption from SRV's in the compound limited without building walls around it. It's also a place to put a name board - did someone say they read Delta S-2 on a gate somewhere?

If you search back through my posts to the day the first bases were discovered, you're gonna see the word 'Stargate'...
We've got a lot of tracks leading up to an object and then away again, rather than through, which suggests that things are being collected, or delivered to that object. Portal seems like an obvious conclusion - but how about instead we consider the word 'sacrifice'...

Exactly this. I understand thinking it would be a way to direct people and keep them from running over equipment but that would imply tracks going THROUGH and that doesnt seem to be the case.

to be fair, it could be where the ships land and once inside the compound your past the sensative equipment? i dont want to say the explenation makes no sense, it just doesnt fit all the questions.
