Read First Those Lakons and millions have to go

PB2 is brilliant. I'm really enjoying the game being so much more stable, and running with a good framerate practically all the time. I love the addition of small trader ship.

I also like that the more obious money making exploits have been closed. I look forward to every possible cheat and hack going away (keep sending those tickets, boys and girls).

What I don't like, is letting people keep even ridiculous amounts of money they had massed up. The are a lot of people who directly hacked the clients, or used an exploit to have literal millions of credits. For some, add several zeroes.

Letting people keep such fortunes means that the economy simulation went to the crapper in moments. With just 8 systems, it doesn't take many trips with a Lakon and an endless bank account to utterly flood market demand and flatten the economy. The result is more money on accounts already bursting from exploit money, and ruining the testing of the economy simulation, and trader gameplay for those who wanted to work their way up fair and square.

How about a credit and ship wipe Frontier? If not for everybody, then at least take it down to at max 200k (including sell value of ship and gear), and an utter reset for anybody with more than a million.

Please.

Because it would not have been that hard to legitimately get a Lakon since PB1 started, once you have one then it is a money making machine until you get a Anaconda.

I am on 500k plus a Cobra, no exploits. Hope to get at least a Lakon before there is a wipe.

Anyway the economy still works, just slightly less profit around - although better since PB2..

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I'm sure there will be wipes. I don't think FD needs to do so just to level the playing field with supposed hackers/exploiters. Some people just have tons of time to sink into the game. Why punish them? They haven't done anything wrong.

My advice would be to not approach any of these builds as 'games' yet and get sucked into the lure of wealth acquisition & progression.

FD should concentrate on getting the game out, not on endlessly tweaking each and every alpha or beta drop to make it 'fair.' They won't be fair - they're incomplete.

I happen to know that several of the people who hacked (in the proper sense) the game and those who used very effective exploits, that have been fixed in the cases I know of, have voluntarily gone back to the default Sidey with 1000Credits. Most of them hacked to make the final product a fairer experience for all of us.

There will definitely be further wipes, certainly one when Gamma starts and possibly others during the remaining beta phases.

There is 15,000 people in the Beta. A few hundred people are crashing the economy for the rest. This is far from optimal. Having nothing to limit the attery of those committed to blowing up starter sidewinders is bad enough, but allowing this situation to continue is really not helping.

To be honest I think "this situation" is mostly in your head.

Economy is improved in PB2... You can definitely make money, although it isn't always on the obvious stuff. Just use your brain (and a pen) and you can make money no problem.

Fine, no one else will say it... so i will!
Kill Lakons on sight! Death to Lakon pilots! They are taking our jobs!!!

Kidding of course. While I agree with the OP, and after watching some of these guys fly/dock/pilot... am pretty sure the only way they got the money was a hack. I don't think anything needs to be done. As stated, money can be made, just not 10K per run.

While this should be addressed to alleviate the economy issue, FD has far more pressing issues to deal with and add into the game. So while I agree in principal— I am not concerned at this point. But I understand the OPs concern.

Of course, if a few of these Lakon guys met with, ummm... an 'accident', while trying to dock.... that would not be a bad thing!

Honestly as a dev, which I am certainly not, I would keep all that money in the system and see how the system runs with it. Because at some point you have to know how your economy behaves when you flood it with money. Or do you want to wipe every two months after the game goes live just because you did not test out all eventualities when you had the chance to do it? We all know that a game economy is destined to break down at some point, but it should at least survive for the first 2 days, no? :D

I agree! Wipe the lot. Were here to test not to amass a huge empire.

People who cheat should just stop playing and get a life.

Yes. I reported one UI bug myself that made it possible to make money from nothing. I'm happy to say it's been closed. I have enough in the bank to buy a cobra. I'd also be very happy to hear that all the exploits have been closed, and now there will be a wipe.

I suspect that may be the case when we move from premium to regular beta. That would be the point when they start seriously testing gameplay and balance, I guess.

I think there's only one major easy cheat engine hack for credits left that I know of. And I've not heard of any remaining UI related cash exploits since the cancel commodities screen one got fixed.

I've not actually checked 2.1 yet for a fix to the existing credit hack.

Sorry, could you give me any clue? Because I travelled the few new systems and the best I got in one trip, was 160 credits difference. I lost my two gimball lasers in PB2 and trully brakes me down to think on getting 13000 cr again to re purchase them. It is totally a mistery for me, how people makes money just trading, or trading until you have the minimum necesary equipment to defend yourself properly without having to die a many many times.
Btw, I know it is a beta and not finished product, but I also know that it can be enjoyed, and that is what Im trying to do.

For the op, +1

Have to agree. Spent a few hours seeing if trading in a sidewinder was viable last night, and the economy is completely screwed. There just aren't enough systems to support the large cargo ships and bank balances that are currently milking them. Don't care about people getting rich, but the small sandbox is making it impossible for everyone else.

Hardpoints deployed!

I like your thinking.:)

:D Not a bad idea actually.

A little bit of civil disobedience could go a long way, all in the holy name of "testing" of course.;):)

It's a free for all at the moment anyway. Maybe some vigilantism (is this a word?) is prudent?:)

Fly safe Commanders! :)

I had luck last night trading medical supplies from Aulin Enterpriae to Azaban City. Not much from AZaban back to Auluin though, but I felt okay making empty runs to pick up Meds in the new system. 'Something' Cells, under medical at Aulin, seemed to be a pick payoff from Aulin to Azaban. Hope that helps and it has not dried up.
