So, you've got a bazillion in credits. You have several ships. Maybe many ships. You've engineered them, you've flown them, and perhaps you are bored of some of them.

Which ships give you the most enjoyment in general?

Large, medium, or small?

Personally, while generally speaking the medium ships are the most effective, i find myself having the most fun with the small ships.

What about you?

(Poll incoming).

Difficult question.

It depends on what type of fun. Just the fun of flying the spaceship: small ships. Bigger ships can be fun because of RP reasons - basically the RP can be fun.

But overall small ships are the most fun for me.

Smaller ships easily take the biscuit for outright enjoyment. Simples. The challenge/speed/positioning etc. etc. in combat are engaging as it is in combat but outside of combat, they get the racing etc. as well.

But there is a definite level of satisfaction/enjoyment in flying a big ship FA Off. Strafing runs in a cutter puts an instant troll face on my CMDR. And if things get lethargic in it, SLF to the rescue!

I don't have a bazillion credits in cash, but I do have several ships.

I find the small and medium ships far more fun, than slow lumbering piles of metal. I only take the Cutter out for some CGs, and usually after a few runs I find myself loving the moment I'm putting it back in the hangar.

Have way more fun in my Clipper, AspX and Cobra, sometimes a Courier, even a T6 for passengers.

I won't vote because I haven't actually flown anything larger than an Asp yet, but the impression I get is that you don't so much fly the larger ships as aim them.

For sheer flying it's probably hard to beat a Sidey.

I don't have everything, so I'll abstain from voting, but generally prefer piloting smaller ships. Having a capable medium sized ship such as the Python can be pretty handy at times too though.

My favorite ship to pilot in the game is probably the Eagle. My favorite ship to use in general is the Vulture.

Small shipes deffinately. It's ironic that we spend our time wanting to get into the large ships and then find that the starter ships are the best to fly.

Taking an engineered ieagle into a haz res is a blast

I took my newly engineered DBS to hunt for ruins.
It was loads of fun to fly around. Has the highest top speed of all my ships, currently, and a decent cockpit, and it's tiny, so can land anywhere. Lol

But my Python is still my favourite ship to fly for all reasons.
It's fast, it's fun, and it kicks bottom.

The least fun ship I've flown is the T9.

Followed by the Clipper, then the Asp.
Anaconda is a brick in SC, but once engineered, it's not so bad in normal flight.

Difficult to answer... I generally stick in my engineered Conda, and thoroughly enjoy mowing down hoards of NPCs (Mobius player), and having the occasional challenge you get from fighting 3 NPC Conda's in a USS or distress call...

but... I got bored of it, so a couple of days ago I bought a second account to play with, and after a couple of hours, find myself playing Open in a mostly A-C rated Cobra, using fixed weps instead of gimbals, and you know what, I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience of that as well.

So... I'm enjoying both large and small, immensely.

Small ships are the most fun, and we're given the least reason to fly them. It's a hugely neglected part of the game that could open things up wide for new and experienced players alike.

FDev really need to focus on putting content in that is specific for small ships while requiring enough experience and skill that vet players will find them fun, that have rewards high enough to make them feel productive.

Let's see some Elite Rank only, small ship only missions.

I prefer the medium ships. The FDL provides me with the most fun, followed by the Python. The Asp Explorer is a very close 3rd.

The big ships don't respond as well and the small ones don't have the utility, range or staying power of the mediums. Even so, all ships have their purpose.

Except the Cobra IV. It's not even useful as scrap. Yes, I'm looking at you, Agony Aunt. ;)

generally: small ships. for combat, for racing, and that amazing "small ship in a huge galaxy" feeling.

for mining and sometimes for exploration: large ships... corvette (mining), conda (exploration)... that feeling having a whole building with you out there.

and i enjoy the comfort of a python, and the cosyness of its cockpit, if travelling slow paced.
