Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I really hope people aren't going to resort to this Formadine Rift Technique of the long loading time. I'm probably not going to be popular in calling it a cheat.

This should be figured out with story, lore and science or using ones eyeballs. :/ Want to be part of this community, but not if it resorts to this buggy method in desperation.

Going to be hard to ignore when a commander starts to glide and it takes longer than usual, the ruins were found by looking at a video frame from FD video, many would call it an exploit, I consider it clever thinking, if we're to go only by what is given in game, then all external tools should be off limits, it's unfortunate that FD has not provided in game tools to properly search billions of square kilometers, if there are real clues at the site, then 1000s of commanders are missing them, likely?

So you freely admit you are planning on breaking and exploiting the EULA in order to prove a point and ruin the hunt for everyone else? Just so you feel like you have done something?

You really willing to risk account deletion and banning because you are having a tantrum?

What hunt? this is a wild goose chase.

maybe the aliens are telling us that our galaxy is due to be demolished for a hyperspace bypass

the number 3 in all their stuff means, if you stay here you will be fked left, right and center so leave like we did

How to search for the lost ruins......

1. Buy your Alien Ruins Lotto ticket
2. Fly around in supercruise
3. Choose any random planet in the named system
4. Fly at 2k over the planet for an hour or five...
5. Fingers crossed and hope your numbers come up!
6. You have to be in it to win it!!!!

Rinse and repeat!

Good Luck in the FD haystack, you're going to need it!

Oh well... sign me up because you MIGHT get lucky CMDR :D

YaY!!!!

Ok, understandably (with the posting rush here) my last post went uncommented on, so, just a quick heads up, may be a long-shot but there is currently news https://community.elitedangerous.com/en/galnet/uid/588b1e769657ba121799dc8e about the col sector which is of interest because the audiograph in the UP points to a locked system thereCol 70 Sector FY-N c21-3 .
Now there's been a murder including a 'disfigured body' and 'radiation burns', plus what's seemingly a lockdown by company ships somewhere in an unspecified COL 70 system.
Again just thinking out loud here, we still don't know who the human player was in the palin obduction/UA case and since the whole thing seems quite unrelated to anything, maaaaybe FD is actually throwing us a bone? Or it might still be unrelated but worth looking at. At least it gives me/us an excuse to take a break from looking at dirt ;) Did check the GalMap for populated systems in the COL70, couldn't find any yet.

Happy mad hunting CMDRs (whatever you may be up to :)

Interesting idea, but likely unconnected to the Ruins puzzle. The unknown ships/probes/artifacts appear to be from a different species from the guardians.

FDev seriously need to up their game when it comes to delivering a story.

Too bad so many people will follow them no matter how bad it is. Fdevs don't feel the need to up their game one bit becauuse of that.

Frustrations are running high and that is understandable but the way I see it even if the next ruins were discovered right now that's only the beginning of the next big chunk of work. More mapping, surveying, finding artifacts, scanning data points, trying to unlock the locations of further sites and so on and so on ... this stuff is going to be a long haul however you look at it. Better to adopt a mindset that is ready for that IMHO.

can we get serious about this again,
we are obviously missing something vital here, there are enough people working on this there is no reason we can't solve it without brute forcing,

Just FYI.

Ranked up to Allied with Wreaken Construction in Ega due to the Galnet post today.
Nothing out of the ordinary has been found on the permit list - no COL 70 permit, no extra missions or anything due to rank. Not that we expected it.

But we had to try.

Hehe, thanks, just what we were discussing on discord right now.

Sorry, you're referring to what?
Why do you think brute force is the only thing going on right now?

It's not. Scanning nearby systems for clues, still working out data & analyse from the different systems.

The large circle looks like a view of a planet looking down on a pole with three lines of longitude denoted at 120 degree intervals, where as the small circle looks like an equatorial view with the equatorial latitude shown. The 5 cog like structures around both circles denoted 120 degrees in 30 degree intervals. If you use a polar co-ordinate system 120 degrees would equate to -30 degrees. Could these be clues to co-ordinates to try? But what datums? North? South? Our 0 degrees longitude?

There is a reason why every relic and every beacon are on their exact positions on this city/ruins/nav beacon.
One cannot just pick up first relic in sight and go around to unlock random obelisk. I figured that out in a legit way, watching the ruins, searching for clues.
Now You know.

On what, LOL this entire 1360+ page thread is about the ancient ruins..
So i am refering to the ancient ruins, I know a lot of people are working on this, but the last few pages are just gossip and banter, and important posts related to the search efforts are being skipped by thread bumping comments like the one i am writing right now

Problem is that in puzzle are a lot of variables but not enough data. Anyway brute forcing is a iteration.
